  7. Bristlenose, Commons, Sailfins and Gold spots are all great algae eaters although as the Commons, Sailfins and Gold spots get bigger they become less effective, in my experience.
  8. and very toxic! Can you take it apart and and give it a good clean?
  9. How old is your internal thermometer? The older they get the less accurate they are and they need to be recalibrated with a reference one that you know is correct. I have had similar ones in the past that have been up to 3 degrees out from what they were displaying. Also is the heater new?
  10. Be very watchful for any fin degradation. As it could be a Columnaris infection.
  11. Thought as much. Hopefully the new house will be able to accomadate a 180x90x75 :nilly:
  12. These are amazing plecs and I would highly rec. one, depending on your tank size and it's inhabitants. They can live in either high or low current, I would just make sure that there is some sort of current in there. The thing with plec s is that they are all different. You never know if it is going to be a hider or if it has the confidence to come out all the time. You can normally get an idea by watching it before you buy it. Growth rates depend heavily on Water quality, food and age. Timid plecs tend to grow slower as I believe that they eat less food during the day as they are hinding and not grazing.
  13. Anyone got any recommendations on tank size for Jardini? Cheers
  14. The Aquarium in Berlin would easily be the best aquarium I have seen...... Your pics brought back all the memories...Thanks Looks like you had an amazing trip.
  15. What's your email? I've got a couple.
  16. That is a L200 Hi-Fin Baryancistrus demantoides, you will prob find that the other are Hemiancistrus subviridis. See how the dorsal fin is connected to the adipose fin. The fin colouration is normal.
  17. You can buy a device from bunnings that plugs into the power point in between the socket and the lead going in. It shows Amps, Volts, watts and you can program in your power price and it will show you how much the running cost is and the overall cost for a set time. Grab one and set it for a month then either show or pay for the minimal power you will be using. I checked how much power 3 2fters were using the other night and there was a total of 58 watts at the time. There is a big 4 outlet air pump, hang-on filter, 2 50w a 1 100w heaters. It was approx 7pm and all the tanks have 2cm poly on back and sides.
  18. If it is an adult plec there is nothing you can do for it. If it is still a young one then you can get more growth out of it by providing optimal conditions, high volume and quality food is a start. Keep your water perfect and stable. Minimise all stress to the plec. What makes you believe it is Stunted? Also don't forget that not all plecs grow to what websites state, some are bigger some are smaller. The sizes shown on planetcatfish and other sites are averages and general trends of size.
  19. Blue planet box set, not sure if it is a special edition or the standard one, has Amazon Abyss included.
