Common Pleco - Pterygoplichthys pardalis Sail fin - Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps Red spot - Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus I have seen Sail fins get to 60cm+. A mate of mine in OZ is breeding them and his biggest would have been 2ft. Red spots tend to reach around 30cm. Commons can get very large too but dont think they get as large as the Sail fins. Sail fins are a much better looking plec.

They were cheap...sorry can't remember price. Not sure all I was told is that they were supplied as bristlenose. Some of the suppliers aren't the best with the identification of plecs hahaha

Just a heads up... Ancistrus sp. Rio Ucayali are available in stores again, I know there are some out east anyway. Great for all those who want something slightly different.

I realise that... I have plenty that are breeding and at all different stages for life. These are different. I have had 3 later batches of fry out grow these guys.... Strange

I have a couple of guppies that seem to be dwarf. They are a couple of males that have fully colored up and are now breeding. I think they must be around 5 - 6 months old now and a little over 10mm. Does anyone else have these? Cheers James

I have kept many plecos in my day and I would have to say that you can never pick the Activity of a pleco based on the type! I have had some that hide where as other have been very active. My most active plec would have been my L14 "Sunny". You kinda have to hope for the best when buying any plec in my opinion. Find one you like and just go for it!

I would love to brred them again. I bred longfins and Albino longfins in Oz, along with a few other things! I am having trouble getting my hands on suitable caves atm. Got any ideas of where I can get some? Cheers James
