I was given a 2400lph Sunsun or similar cannister filter and the impellor shaft is broken. Anyone know if it is possible to get a replacement from somewhere? cheers

I had one awhile ago.......... Never again I got it at 7cm. Stunning fish to look at but once it got to about 15cm it started to attack everyhting.... I mean everything even my 25cm L14. Killed heaps of fish before I could get rid of it!!

You can get an adaptor that converts T8 to T5 Our sparky at work installed them in our Lab. I'm not suire on price etc. Talk to a lighting store or specialist

Only difference between general baker's yeast and brewer's yeast is the yeast strain. They have defferent optimum growth requirements making them more suited for each environment eg in Wort when making beer and in the dough.

Keep a very close eye on the pH as when the yeast metabolise's the sugars it will create a pH drop. Otherwise just do a couple of water changes over the next copuple of day to get most of it out and it will be fine. Brewers yeast is in alot of different fish food

You could get yourself some flatter peices of wood..... I wouldn't make the royals share 1 piece, you might find yourself with a territory issue.

For a 450Ltr planted tank. I don't want the flow in the tank too high, but I hate particles in my water. Any recommendations?

Just a quick update on the feeding..... He is starting to show aggression towards the pellets now. Although still skiddish when I approach the tank for feeding but once he notices the food he darts towards the top and snatches a few. A couple more weeks on these to really concrete it into him then will start slowly adding shrimp only at night.

As Long as they get there own space they should be fine. My big royal has decided to move in next to my Cactus and they are now always butting heads through this tiny gap betwwen their caves. I think it is more the Royal than the Cactus though. If you are getting 2 I would make sure you create two seperate territories, perhaps at each end, as if they decided to fight they can do alot of damage. This can happen during feeding time, so watch to make sure they are both actually getting enough food. Like Henward said they are carnivorous and should be fed accordingly, with the odd algae wafer. Overall a fantastic pleco, great to look at and if your lucky (like Henward) it will be an active one during feeding.

I'm going to get it fully comfortable on the pellets before starting to feed him prawn etc.... I would hate to lose all my hard work.
