  8. come one guys it was going really well, pull your heads back in and keep on having civil discussions. those last few posts were very good, almost pleasant. anyway, other than the water quality do the sps benefit from the uv? (provide them with any food etc?)

http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/nudibranch-berghia-verrucicornis-vt5782.html here's a cool pic of a native nudi that BrianK had in his cold water marine tank
  10. yip there is one, i think its called water world or something
  11. atually skuzza collects NSW from tauranga, give him a PM
  12. theres a guy in morrinsville that gets his water form the mount but im not sure where he gets it. you might want to try the boat ramp on the harbour side. nice and quite
  13. if its just for your personal enjoyment you might also find it rather difficult to justify the relevant expense's. (barring the possibility that your a millionaire with nothing better to do, but then you could just pay someone to sort it all out for you)
  14. get a decent skimmer but seriously what does it feel like?? is it firmly attached to the rock or does it come off freely. try dropping down the photo period on the halides by a few hours (2 or so) for a little while and see if that has an impact. also is it in areas of the tank with lower flow or is it just in random places??
  15. nice call out suphew. it does get hard wading through all the muck to find out the truth when ther is so much heresay etc.
  16. good point. alot like my flatworm kill off, the tank did get back to normal fairly quickly tanks to the water changes, and the acro's responded well. what i want to know is how much of the zeo system is good husbandry (regular water changes, constant water parameters etc) and how much it the zeo system?? it will be a while untill i can attempt it as i have along way to go in perfecting my water param's and keeping it all stable
  17. wasp no need to argue or get upset, the whole idea of these threads and forums is to discuss things, just because someone says that they think something else is happening it doesnt constitue an argument. things need to be turned back a few notches and just discuss the issues at hand. as per your comment on the PO4 drop after long acclimatisation i can see the reasoning in it.
  18. the logic does go in laytons favor here, personally im considering using zeovit but i dont think that the TN would be cause by rapid improvements in water quality.

LOL no its not like that cracker, but i got very vocal about the nudi's eating the zoo's and its a little catch phrase that she says when im a bit frustrated about something in the tank etc. best way to get rid of them is to take out the colonys of zoo's and fresh water dip them, i had to do it about 2-3 times as some where missed.

well if they are on your zoos and making them close up i suggest you eradicate them asap. even my wife know what we do to the nudis that eat my zoos
  21. id say the flow and lights would be the saving, but like i said before to do it right it still going to cost a bit

    Skimmer test

fortunatly most people realised that thing about reef saying its better than a deltec was in jest. and i was just wanting people to get a fair assesment

    Skimmer test

they were definatly bagging that fact that he said he doesnt import things for the money. and chimera eplained that it was fair enough to make money from it but not to say that you import for the love of the hobby.
