  1. What, Is that on again? Would love to see another season. Great show. Very amusing.
  2. No, Lincoln Rd is NOT one of the Restaurant Brands stores. :cofn:
  3. Wouldn't that be the equivalent of rinsing your filter media in tap water?
  4. This tank just gets better and better with each passing day. You must be very pleased with the way it's turning out.
  5. That is cool. Looks like there has been quite a bit of planning gone into this. Very professional looking.
  6. :cophot: A nice clean tank. Looks cool.
  7. :gpo2: Amazing.... nice work on sussing out the algae too
  8. Well after almost 2 weeks now, 1 week with Melafix, followed up with the recommended 4 days of Furan 2, I can now report back that his eye is no better. :dunno: He is now back in the main tank and life goes on for him I guess. Except it took him a good couple of hours to assert his dominance once more after my little sunset gourami decided he was in charge for the past 2 weeks. I figure it can't be bacterial now since neither of the two medications had any effect so hopefully it will not spread to the other eye.
  9. I find it hard to believe that anyone can not like Carl's Jr. :dunno: You have to get the ThickBurgers to really appreciate them. How can you not like all that sauce and juices oozing out and running down your fore arms... And the cross cut fries... OMG! BUT, the best part of all are their commercials. Aimed squarely at 16-24 year old males.
  10. Very nice Cakes Caryl. Makes me want to eat some now. :bggrn: How did you know exactly where to cut your Polka Dot cake so you would cut exactly through the middle of a red and green spot? Nice effect though. Thanks for sharing.
  11. That plec looks really cool. I was told though that the fancy ones tend to hide most of the day and come out at night. In which case you wouldn't see it much. I could be wrong but that's what I was told by a reputable LFS, and for the price they are I thought I'd rather get something I can see ALL the time. :bggrn: By the way, your tank is looking way cool at the moment. That background is spectacular. Oh, and what SamH said, A big group of small fish swimming in a school is way cooler than one big fish IMO. The Emerald Eye Rasbora is very good at maintaining a tight school, and could look quite good in your tank with their bright glowing eyes against your background, swimming back and forth. They hang around in the upper region too leaving plenty of room for bottom dwellers.
  12. Cool idea. How are you going to get the two wall outlets onto different circuits? Are you, or do you know a sparky? Looks good though.
  13. Thanks guys. I ended up pulling it all out. Was quite easy actually. It came out in one big ball. Underneath was some healthy looking Java Fern bushes. :bggrn:
  14. No, just swimming around the aquarium. I think their tank ran over a road mine or something like that.
  15. Found 3 fat Oto's today that I haven't seen for several months. :happy1:
  16. I think your 'Fav' fish is pretty cool too. :cophot:
  17. Hi All, I bought a couple of small pots of Java Fern and proceeded to split it into several small plants and scattered it around on driftwood. This one particular piece I put higher up on the driftwood close to the surface and it's grown into this massive bush. It's currently about 25cm diameter. My question is, is this what Java Fern can grow like or have I got a bit of Java Moss hitch hiked it's way in.... along with the snails. Either way, the fish LOVE it and heaps of platy fry have taken refuge in it. I just don't want it taking over and getting everywhere in the tank. So what should I expect to see from this as time goes on? Should I take some action now to control it, or just let it do it's thing? Cheers
  18. There should be a follow up video showing how puffed he was after all the jumping around. Nice effect though.
  19. I added a flip down support. Basically just a board hinged at the front with a catch at the back to keep it up when put away. Also, the rails seem strong enough by themselves, but still good to use the extra support for that 'just in case' factor. The tank slides nice and smooth as well even when full. I'm quite chuffed actually with how it's turned out. :happy1: :happy2:
  20. G'day and Hi. You must have seen quite a few changes in the equipment and the way we keep fish now days to when you first started.
  21. On a more positive side, when a fish dies, it leaves space for a new fish. :bggrn:
  22. Wish we could fast forward a couple of years to see what it looks like with all the corals grown up. Looks fantastic now though too.
  23. Awesome looking tank mate. Your hard work and careful planning looks like it will pay off big time. What fish are you going to add? Can't you add a couple of small fish to get your cycle going? With 200l how much ammonia can a few small fish produce? Wouldn't think enough to cause any harm. At least not till the filter catches up. Just my opinion, but I have no patience either.
