  1. Love this photo. A definate contender for POTM in my opinion. Great blog. Thanks for taking the time to post it all up. :cophot:
  2. Which fish are the destructive ones?
  3. Now that is something quite a bit different. Looks great. Looks very realistic and like you have a window into the true habitat. Well done.
  4. With the money you are spending on this project, no one would question this.
  5. Looks awesome. Nice indoor pool you have there. :slfg: Is the glass tinted, or just so thick that it looks darker? You must be just about at the max what glass can do before having to use acrylic. Like most people, can't wait to see it filled now. Will be just another case of hurry up and wait for all of us now I guess. :spop:
  6. I'm still waiting for my dinner. The cook is a bit slow around here. :dno: But then again roast lamb does take a while in the oven. :dnc1:
  7. Very well done indeed. And a nice bit of wood too.
  8. Mine grew so fast his skin couldn't keep up. It looked like his skin was starting to split... a bit like streatch marks. The marks went away after a while though when his skin caught up with the rest of him.
  9. Looks great Doc. I'm begining to enjoy the smaller tanks over the larger tanks now.
  10. Wow, he's real purdy.... Looks fantastic. :nfs: I remember spending quite a bit of time staring at the sea horses at Kelly Tarlton's. They are quite adorable.
  11. I have done this before with an old version of Nero that I actually paid money for way back when. The CD arrived on my doorstep from Germany. This was in the days way before broadband so I couldn't just download it. Sorry I'm not up with the play of what burning software is out there now though. But if they could do it all that time ago, can't be too hard for some more modern software to do it now.
  12. Well I'd say you achived that. Looks very well thought out. Very pleasing to the eye.
  13. Well I'm impressed with your advise Adrienne. Thanks It's gone already. I'm thinking maybe chasing him with the net must have made his bum puker up because now he's in another tank I can't see it anymore. I'll still leave him in there though for a few days with the epsom salts. See if he perks up a bit as well. BTW, tank is only 19L so I only added about half a teaspoon of epsom salts.
  14. I was dosing Excel at double dose every 2nd day before to slow down the BBA, and thats when the val melted. I have since got a SAE and reduced my use of Excel to every day at 50% dose. I also use Flourish at the same rate. Seems to be working ok. Plants are growing, very little algae (now) bugger all BBA and the twisted Val has started to grow big as well now. And I also have a very fat SAE.
  15. Wow, baby Harlequins... how cool is that! I notice you have removed the dwarfe sag though. Why was that? Did you not like the look or did it not do to well in there?
  16. Thanks Adrienne, I will try that. I have epsom salts and will move him to his own tank so the others don't miss out on dinner.
  17. Are you sure your mp3's don't already have a little silence at the begining and end of the track?
  18. The problem with not skimming your discs is that your brakes will take a lot longer to bed in properly as your discs will have an uneven surface and your new pads will be flat. Which means you brakes wont be as effective for a week or two or however long it takes for your new pads to wear to the same contours as the disc surface. There are two things you shouldn't skimp on when servicing a car. One is tyres the other is brakes. Both of these affect the distance required to stop before hitting the car in front. BTW, $350 is way OTT. Try Midas. They are the cheapest IMO. :bggrn:
  19. Hi guys. Not sure what this is, but it's definately not poop. Wasn't there yesterday but he's been acting a bit sad for the last few days. I've had him about 9 mths now. I feed him only NLS pellets. He doesn't seem too interested on frozen bloodworms or frozen brine shrimp. No use giving him peas either to clear the blockage as I've tried that before and only end up picking out bits of fluffy peas a few days later. He does like to eat his tank mates small fish version of the NLS though (0.5mm pelets) Has anyone seen this get better by itself? Would tonic salt help at all? I'm a bit worried his days may be up soon.
  20. Awesome dude, so clean, so clear.... looks great.
  21. Could you test your API kit out by making up an ammonia solution with a known qty of ammonia? Only two issues with doing that of course is where to get the ammonia from and how much would you add to your water sample. I'm sure there's plenty of cleaver enough people here though that have done this before. :dno:
  22. Ummmm.... That's quite different now. :roey: It's been an interesting journey to get this far. I've just started my own mini fish tank so it's been great to read through this thread getting ideas. :gpo2:
  23. Must be true.... Angels really do eat Neons.
  24. There are several businesses in New Zealand that do transformer winding/rewinding. You should give some of them a call. May not be that expensive to get one made if you can't find one 'off the shelf' A quick google search for 'Transformer rewinders' should get you started.
