  1. Are they schooling? or just chilling in the same area? :fshi:
  2. Sounds like a pretty cool little tank. I have found that my Embers come out more when the overhead light isn't so bright.
  3. Must be a relative of the Platy... :bggrn:
  4. :nfs: your tank looks very nice.
  5. It's mostly the Embers that have disappeared. They are by far the more shy of the two, and never really come out to the front of the tank. The CPD's are more bold and go all over, especially at dinner time.
  6. Decided to do a little vacuum with todays water change. I don't usually vacuum as there's never any dirt on the bottom. Anyway, I sucked up 3-4 little blobs of unknown origin from around behind the pants. Don't know what they were but looks like there's also about 3-4 fish missing. Coincidence.... I think not. So now have removed the Indian Fern and moved the driftwood (with the Java Fern attached) further back against the back wall so the little fish can't hide around the back so much and I can keep a closer eye on them.
  7. Awesome. Nice active fish. :gpo2:
  8. If these are your first fish there is no need to quarantine them as who are they going to pass any deseases onto? When you add your next lot though, then you can consider quarantine. I have been informed that the LFS fish have been quarantined before they sell them anyhow so why double up. If buying from an individual, then maybe....
  9. WOW! What a fantastic job you have done Jennifer and your team of contributors. You can all be very proud of yourselves. Cheers Leon
  10. They don't look very nice when there's more than a few, and not part of my master plan.
  11. First there was one.... First time I saw a snail I thought, no worries, one little snail isn't so bad. Now I have 8 chain loaches on full time snail catching patrol across two tanks. :lar: Even with all those loaches I still see the occasional snail too, but they are well under control now.
  12. I cut mine all the time. The ends may go a bit raggy, but that's about all.
  13. Hiya Neviden. Sounds quite exciting for you. Did you have a budget in mind of how much you want to spend? I have found this hobby can cost quite a lot if you let it. Just wood and plants alone can add up to quite a lot depending on how you approach it.
  14. I was told it's too exspensive.
  15. If you get stuck, I'm in Massey and have a wee bit of Furan 2 you are welcome to use if you don't get to the shops in time.
  16. You sure do have a lot of fish aye. Top photo's though. Have you ever published any of your work?
  17. I like the last photo. Kind of like an enchanted trail of some sort... :cophot:
  18. I've been waiting patiently for the new arrivals to settle down.... Do they ever run out of energy? I got the other two out of my mini fish tank finally. One of them I didn't so much catch as just wore him out till he ran out of gas and almost fell into the net. Took about 30 minutes though. He's having a good rest now. So just 5 are all swimming around.... and around.... and around together at the moment and one of the little Oto's has decided he wants to be a chain loach now and is trying to keep up with them. Maybe coincidence but one of my Neon Tetra's has quite a good bite mark on her mouth area so will keep have to keep a close eye.... not that I would have a hope in hell of catching them again. All in all, a great addition to the community. Thanks Sophia.
  19. You can say that again. I'm convinced mine is teleporting to get from one end of the tank to the other.

    Hello!

The male is the one that goes dark blue under his throat area. Very entertaining and pretty fish.

    Hello!

Nice little tank you have there. Quite a nice layout you have done. Do you notice the boy Gourami chasing the girl much?
  22. I got two Chocolate Zebras a few weeks ago after much uming and arhing... Thought I wouldn't see them much but turns out I see them a lot. Still don't know what they eat though has have never seen them have a good feed. Oh, and my otos will happily scoff down any NLS pellets that make it to the bottom of the tank. There is a great compitition to see who can get to them first. The Oto's or the chain loaches. :bggrn:
