  1. Its been a busy week i tell u. Dont know whats with the fish but they are going for it Holding: Aulonocara Rubescens, Aulonocara Maleri, Aulonocara hansbaenschi (red shoulder) New Fry: Aulonocara jacobfreibergi, Protomelas taeniolatus (Red Empress), Sciaenochromis fryeri, Nimbochromis venustus and good old Electric Yellows Who needs a social life
  2. Hi Dude Thats cool. Hope you do better spawning these guys then you do driving just joking Keep us updated. Any luck with those ugly things I gave you? Mine spawned again but left the fry for adult food.
  3. Hi GeeTee Looks like a P.Saulosi but alot of P look alike. Try this site. http://www.malawicichlidhomepage.com/pa ... aulosi.htm
  4. Hi James Why not put the breeding male and females in the 4 foot hap tank and remove the other Zebra (leave Haps in tank aswell). The more fish in a tank the better the females will be. NEVER put one male and one female alone in a tank. When it comes to making lots of hiding places for your females that never seems to work as they always seem to hang round the top when hasseled. I have better luck with heaps of tall fake/plastic plants along the back of the tank and as your females start to hold remove them to a holding tank. When you finshed with what you want to do just remove the plastic plants. Just another option as this works for me
  5. Good to see you getting real fish But I think a three foot tank for Cichlids just to small as they do grow esp in captivity. If you stay with a 3 footer get some Tangs: Julidachromis Marlieri Neolamprologus brichardi Neolamprologus pulcher Just a idea
  6. Thats so cool. Breeding Tangs are the best. Got any more pics?
  7. Dont we all! Awesome fish

  11. Weird! My females (2) have died as well. different times. The males seem to do alot better in the long run. Had three spawning before they died. Bugger ah
  12. Good idea! Will try that next time
  13. Hi Catbrat. Once the fry hatch i collect what i can and place them into a smaller tank. The tank contains water and one sponge filter from the main tank, so i cant see that been the problem. Fry are feed twice a day with crumbled flake and every secound day with micro worms. I change 10-20% water every secound day. Fry last about a week or two then start dying off. Very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do the same with my Twigs. Never have any problems with them.
  14. Good luck on raising the fry Kyle. My whiptails breed all the time but I have trouble raising the fry. Hope you do better then me Any one got ideas?

Just like most cichlids feed them well, weekly water changers and depending on their size they will look after the breeding side of things. Good time now to get rid of any runts. U might get a few casualties, but thats just the dominant male getting rid of any competition. By the way dude, my L144 have breed. Good size batch. About 20 for the first time.
