good point, yes. it's my first glass terrarium I am going to build. did build many out of wood, standalone or in bookshelves back in the days for my snakes and lizards. (I have to go thru all my pictures, hardware, not on a computer and see if I can find any).

I have to replace one side (the front) of my cracked glass tank which I will turn into a terrarium with sliding doors. the lower part has to stay water proof so nothing will leak. is it recommended to take the whole tank apart and start from scratch or just replace cracked side ? either way, what is a save way to take silicon joints apart ? razor blade maybe ? is alcohol recommended (as in cleaning alcohol not beer just to be clear) to clean the edges which will be siliconed together ? I also plan to build the front 'ventilated' for a better air flow in the terrarium. any hints where I get some sort of a aluminium plate with holes similar to this one ? And I am still looking to get some double U profiles for the sliding doors (can be plastic or aluminium) something similar to this ?

that's what they do, they eat frog spawn, but our native frogs should be save as they do not just lay their eggs and bugger off, they look after their offspring and the introduced ones, too many everywhere anyway the bigger problem nowadays with importing amphibians is chytrid-fungus which can kill whole populations in a short time if the amphibians are already 'stressed' and 'weakened' because of other enviromental influences such as raising temperatures or lack of rain as examples.

the tadpoles are/were between 80mm and 90mm and the fresh morphed frogs are all between 35mm and 40mm (no, not with stretched legs) they are huge.

thanks, that's what I thought but I seem to remember that the little brown tree frogs were so greedy they did eat even with half of their tail still on (or maybe I am just confusing them with young axolotl, what do I know ?)

and there were more... when will they start to eat ? (the flies in the enclosure don't seem to bother the frogs at all)

the first two Green and Golden Bell Frogs went to shore today on Saturday I am amazed, they have nearly the same size as adult Whistling Tree Frogs (sorry if I bother anyone, these are things you already know but it is new to me) :dnc1:

bought four leopard fish on TM, two committed suicide and did jump out of the tank, two just died simultaneously, the wcmm together with them in the same tank are doing fine. maybe I'm not leopard fish compatible :-?
