  1. or instead of aquatic mix go into the native bush (not pine forest), dig a small hole (500 mm deep) and take some earth from there and mix that with some loam and use that as your base layer under the sand
  2. they probably aired the first 2 episodes already and then decided to pull the series just to start showing it again in another time slot. probably couldn't sell commercial breaks at prime time at the right price because of not enough people watching.
  3. - where do you get your frogs from ? (tadpoles or adult frogs from the wild ?) - your tank has definitely not enough height - don't forget, by the time you put substrate, plants, a small stream (??), a small log to hide under in the tank there is even less space available again, in my opinion, your tank is too small for frogs (and yes, I am against catching adult frogs in the wild to put them in jail, get some tadpoles, let them morph, they wont know anything else than tank life)
  4. soon ? if you are an evolutionist you know it will take much longer than 7 days
  5. nice one  (what's all the background noise)
  6. back in 1998 they found about 6000 Axolotl per square km in the channels of Xochimilco, in 2003 they were down to 1000 per square km, in 2008 only 100 were counted, during the last expedition over 3 months they couldn't count a single water monster in the wild anymore. it seems they are gone for good in the wild. the pollution and introduced fish species have pushed them too far. :an!gry :an!gry No hallan un solo ajolote en los canales de Xochimilco :an!gry :an!gry
  7. looking very good... ...now all you need to do is color your frogs (Dendrobates)
  8. not on the pictures but I have some which already have a green stripe could it be that in the wild the aurea and raniformis did x breed ? (and as a result some generations later they started to become those 'ugly' yellow ones ?)
  9. sorry that I didn't mention it but they are from the north island, they are not from down here. down here I only hear and find the little brown ones. but they are from the southern part of the north island so they have to be raniformis and not Litoria aurea.
  10. Where are you, the tee is getting cold.
  11. A couple of question to the frog specialists on the forum. The more my little morphing frogs develop the more I get the impression they are Southern Bell Frogs / Growling Grass Frogs rather than Green and Golden Bell Frogs. compared with pictures online via google they look more like Litoria raniformis the further they develop. the warty back and the darker belly on the side below the white side line is more typical with Southern Bell Frogs, right ? What is your verdict looking at these pictures ?
  12. does everybody have access to that list ? if so, where do I find this list ? cheers
  13. don't know why but I must have missed Burn Notice, but even Bones is now on Prime, TV3 must be really deep in the crapper
  14. if there is a cheap way to get them down here I will buy them
  15. once again I have a question about a cold water fish, the Stone Moroko or Pseudorasbora parva, do we have this fish here in NZ ? I hope we don't because of the harm this little fish could do to our waters but nevertheless if we have them I am interested to get some.
  16. went to my favourite tadpole place today and once again I found this :fshi: it's too dry :an!gry
  17. just watched season 3 episode 1, happy again... :dnc1:
