went to get 20 liter of petrol for my lawn mower the other day. payed $42. how much of the $42 is for road tax ? (must be $11 if not more right ?) how can I claim it back ? what are boat owner do ? isn't the bacteria living in the filter dead after a short time without running water and all you will do is boosting dead bacteria into your fish tank ?

it was sent on the 14th afternoon and was here on the 16th at 12.30 pm, 2 nights then. do Courier Post NZ accept live fish ? no crickets yet, no. will order soon. just got golden bell frog tadpoles (wow, they are huge) and some are nearly fully developed already.

Post Haste, way to go, Live Fish 2 day delivery from the North Island to Naseby (actually Ranfurly but it did take only 2 days as promised) and way cheaper than Fastway Couriers. :thup:

Charge the earth for very poor service. Have had three shipments with Fastway Couriers from the NI to the SI the last couple weeks and they managed to mess up all three shipments. not impressed. very friendly and helpful people down here in Cromwell but somehow the dispatcher must hate his job or has had a windows seat during geography in school. Parcels are clearly marked Naseby and Central Otago. all three parcels did end up in Dunedin, got scanned and a message was put online, sorry the parcel was misdirected to Dunedin and is now on the way to Inverargill, we apologise for any unconveblablabla. From Invercargill the parcel was sent to Wanaka. in Wanaka the parcel was handed over to NZ Courier and from there it went to Queenstown where it staid over the weekend. on Monday I could go and pick up a wet box at the shop in Naseby and the lady at the shop told me I am sorry but I guess your fish are dead. There was still enough water in the plastic bags and the Axolotl were all three fine. so a 2 day delivery turned out to be a five nights four day trip. the other two deliveries were plants but same procedure. Fastway Couriers ? No, thank you... :an!gry

they turn up on TradeMe every now and then and we have a user here on the forum with name 'exotic something' who sells them

my Axolotl would love to play with them for a while... :cry1:

finally arrived today after another ordeal with Fastways Couriers (3rd in a row - 1x live animals, 2x plants) 3 plants per pot, 18 plants in total, that should last for a while :happy1:

so do my axolotl (I feed them with big feeding tweezers) and my little brown frogs (also feed with tweezers - they open their mouth, grab the moths with both 'hands' and shove them in)

I play mine some 'Barry White' songs for the time they are in the love nest tank...

Do snails eat the WCMM eggs ? I have set up a small tank where I will put some WCMM in just to lay eggs and remove them again and now I saw there are lots of tiny snails in it as well (must have brought them in with some weed from an outside bin)

I was just interested because I can remember in my youth when we went to Italy for holidays, every Monday was a big market and there was always a guy selling red ear turtles and gold fish out of the back of his Fiat Giardiniera. the plastic bags were hanging on the back door. he sold it as 2 turtles, 2 goldfish or one turtle and one goldfish together. a bag did cost less than $5.

just out of curiosity, what's a red ear turtle worth in $ here in NZ ?
