  1. in cases like this if caught they should have to inhale chlorine into their lungs and slowly suffocate with a burning feeling in their chest... I have no mercy with scum... an eye for an eye...
  2. but you know, it's never their own fault, it's their upbringing, they didn't know better... :an!gry :an!gry
  3. it's Vogel because it's full of birdseed
  4. german word Herde = herd or flock german word Schwarm = flock or swarm german word Vogel = bird german word Vogelschwarm = swarm of birds or flock of birds it's too bloody complicated... :cr2: If all fools wore red caps, we should seem a flock
  5. english not my motheltongue, solly... ...but I always thought a flock of horses, a flock of bisons (and in the 80s a flock of seagulls) but bees, locusts, birds, everything flying in a group is called a swarm. while blackbirds more or less live in couples. I was proven wrong. but you are right, I rather have Tuis, Bellbirds or Fantails in my garden than blackbirds, starlings or sparrows
  6. sure these are black birds and not starlings ? blackbirds normally are not in swarms while starlings are...
  7. I don't know why but my frogs seem to hate the Blue Bottle Blowfly, they are happy to prey on them but the moment they have them in their mouth they will spit them out and use their front legs to get rid of that fly as fast as possible. anyone made the same observation ? I catch flies with a fly trap outside but those blue ones seem to be unappetizing. but I can plop them onto the water surface of my Axolotl tank and they go nuts, they love this flies...
  8. ok, I will give it a try on the Axolotl tank, cheers
  9. sorry, should have mentioned that, tank size is 1200x360x450 and a 2nd one with same size is in preparation (for Upland Bullies). ok, they are or will be only 2/3 full with water but a fan will probably not be enough. are you using a proper Aquarium chiller ? what brand ? where did you get it from ? or are you using a DIY one ?
  10. In another forum I did read that someone did convert an Office Water Chiller to a fish tank cooler. anyone done that here before ? or what are you using to keep your water temperature down ? are you using ice packs or bottles ? my Axolotl tank water temperature at the moment is still ok in the 15° to 18° degrees range but it can get very hot here in Naseby and the house I am living in has everything but any insulation (which means I will probably have to heat my Axolotl tank in winter... ). Anyway, 2nd hand Office Water Chillers seems to be cheap compared to a high end Fish Tank Cooler and maybe worth a try. your thoughts ?
  11. yes, up in Rotorua some years ago with no luck, will try down here then, thanks
  12. no chance [angry santa smily], I rather give them a chance to grow into a nice Kokopu... (...I do not even like the idea that someone would do that, using whitebait as live food)
  13. thank you all, next time I am in Dunedin I will buy some and start breeding them... :cr2: (...the water temperature is exactly the reason why I don't want Guppies) :cr9:
  14. ok, you are right, my fault, in german they are called Kardinalfisch, in english White Cloud Mountain minnow (Tanichthys albonubes), I will change my 1st post...
  15. do we have White Cloud Mountain minnow (Tanichthys albonubes) here in NZ ? does someone breed them ? I am looking for some I can put together with my Axolotl as a toy (that sounds very mean) and as food (that sounds even worse). :cr8:
  16. I've heard that from many people already that it is a common plant but I haven't found any. maybe I did look in the wrong shops. anyone a hint where in Ashburton, Timaru or Dunedin I would find this plant ? :cr8:
  17. and I am still looking for a Pothos plant. I was in several stores with a plant section asking for a Pothos plant but noone seems to know if they are available or not. http://images.plant-care.com/potted-pothos.jpg if someone of you has these plants would it be possible to get a piece or two of it ? they will easy regrow roots and they even have air roots. it is an ideal plant to cover an Axolotl tank as well as a nice sturdy plant for a frog terrarium. thanks for your help and merry :cr2:
  18. what are you doing with 2000+ tadpoles anyway ? (or what will you do with 2000 frogs ?) :cr2:
