  10. I have no experience at all with LED lights for the Aquarium but I need a light source so the plants in my Axolotle tank are happy. the Axolotle like it darkish but the plants need some light. I found this one on ebay.com, could that be something for my plants ? or what do I have to look for in a LED light which will support the plants ? thank you...
  11. my mother tongue is not english but the way I do understand Stellas post is you have to send her an eMail and show your interest to help and then she will send you the manuscript or a link to it. the link in her post is just as an example to show in which series her book will be published...
  12. that is a good idea, thanks  (will probably use chicken heart but anyway, good idea...) yup, the buckets and bins are ready around the house to get mosquito wigglers etc. but still no luck (still happy neighbours)... ...found several ponds in the forest with tonns of small boatmen but they are still a bit too big for now

  14. if I drive to Dunedin I will but noone seems to send frozen bloodworms to Naseby, too much out in the tussock it seems. we even have a church, a hotel, a shop and a pub, I live a stone throw away from the CBD but it is listed as Rural Delivery with all the courier companies...
  15. no, mine are already grown out of that stage (got BBS daily, didn't like daphnia - it's probably me feeding the daphnia wrong), they already eat pieces of garden worms (tiny pieces as in one ring), half whiteworms and fruit flies I give them with tweezers, just thought bloodworm pieces would be easier to feed (and I am against axolotl pellets) EDIT: sorry they are probably no longer called larvae (or are they ?), they have front legs and the hind legs start to grow, they are between 30 and 35mm now. what are they called now ? juveniles ?
  16. I am on the hunt for bloodworms for my Axolotl larvas and found these Freeze Dried Bloodworms. never used them before. do I have to put them in water until they are soft again and feed them ? I know freeze dried coffee but bloodworms...
  17. I bought them on TradeMe from thefishtank
  18. I will drive down to Dunedin tomorrow or the day after and was looking for pet shops in Dunedin on the web and was so happy when I found this link: http://dunedinclearwaterpetstore.com/reptiles.php well... :an!gry anyway, I am on the hunt for bloodworms (live or frozzen), brine shrimp eggs and small flies or crickets, any recommendations ? (will also need some cat food but for that I will probably go to the Pet Warehouse)
  19. funny that, exactly my first thought when I saw the pictures... :slfg:
  20. Happy New Year and all the best for 2013 hmmm ? do I may need to reconsider... ?
  21. this is my setup and I use a pipette to collect the 'crevettes' to feed them to the Axolotl larvas (big tadpoles love them too)... (we have very chlorinated water here in Naseby so I use 3 bottles, one is always running with just salted water for at least one day)
