You can always hide the silicon with lid covers,frames, surrounds etc. I have some stainless angle around the vertical joins on one of my tanks, it looks pretty snazy I think

How did you get the ripple type look on the background?

I have a black background, converting to black substract with dark coloured fish. Although it is a lot of black a lot of things I have read says it will keep them happier. I figure its your tank do what you please

I hadnt been home most of the week as I was dog sitting, so it could of been getting a beating for over a week before I noticed for all I know.Bugger it all
