  1. After saying it was such a good eater and a good fish, it has decided to pack a sad and sulk in a corner at the bottom of the tank.Is this normal?
  2. Yes it does suck! Now I need to think of another feature fish for my tank.
  3. Much appreciated pal! Wires got put in today. Next week I am hoping to start sorting out the insulation.

    My Red Texas"

That is a nice looking fish
  5. Someone on here said if you drill bigger holes into a spray bar it decreases flow. You could try that. I make my spray bars from plumbing pipes with a table legs bottom on it as a bung
  6. How is the water returning from the sump? Spray bar, duck bill etc?
  7. I lost my fire eel Wheeler last night &c:ry
  8. I have heard a few people throw around the Southern Delight brand of food in the states recently. Have your heard much or read into it at all David?
  9. I think I recently saw a banner for it on PFK that said that it is rebranded "Tetra" brand food. I persoanlly did not like much of the tetra range so I probably will not use it and will stick with NLS. We started using it at work, and the fish (not africans) seemed happy enough to eat it. I can't note any extra waste produced or colour differences however sorry.
  10. Its pretty sad really. Now I really have to finsh my fish room and load up with cichlids again
  11. No more Africans &c:ry Forthe first time since I started keeping fish, I do not have a African cichlid or any cichlid at all for that matter.
  12. Around 6 months ago someone asked me how big the Jag in this picture was that I am looking after, I do not recall who but I measured it today and it is at least 25cm but more likely around 27cm I also measured the Oscar I am looking after it came in at 31cm.
  13. Thanking all for the help. I will move it to the bigger tank once it has no cichlids in it.
  14. Thanks, will do so. I have no other big fish to go in as I am still growing out the clown knife and fire eel.And have not made a decision on what else is going in just yet.
  15. My Arowana is around 4 or 5 inchs, and is in a 3 foot tank. basicly by it self. It is eating live, prepared, frozen and prawns happily. Very soon my large tank will be empty except for plecs and clown loach. What is a good size to put the Aro into it? Do I need to set up a larger growout (4 foot maybe) before I put it into the big tank or will it be ok going in there in a monthish? Thanks
  16. I never knew that. I had some of them in a tank together for a while without any noteable issue. As far as I knew it was just Alto's that were advised against keeping with shellies. I guess you learn something every day.
  17. Yesterdays work with fellow forum user "nathanathan9". We knocked out all of the small shelves, de nailed all of the walls, removed the ceiling beams and raised them, put up the ceiling batterns, and tacked on the exteria boards for the new wall. I am all ready for the sparky to come in, so will be ringing him today and hopfully he can come round next weekend.
  18. Jager or Fluval e would be my suggestion. Although I find Aquaone fine as well.
  19. Hence why I asked, as they may not have considered or heard of cycling a tank before.
  20. Bugger! They are a nice looking fish and would be a good varient for Jags
  21. Does we have these/ does anyone have any? I am sure I saw it on "the list" but I am not the flashest when it comes to names in italics. So thought I would ask.
