Only issue I can see is that you might get dead spots and depending on fish types lotsa poo in the bottom (fear the pleco poo)

for some reason they remind me of stretched out dwarf puffers the way they move when looking for food -
LEDS rock, cleaner wavelength light, high intensity, cheap to run (may be more expensive initially but you'll save it pretty quickly in power savings compared to fluro or MH lighting, plus you'll probably never change a bulb again)

dunno only thing I'd be a bit cautious with is avocado. are you thinking of making your own paste food or something???

I regret giving up my Mutant gold Severum, had him for 5 years, no top jaw just a bottom jaw that flapped up and down like the aliens from the muppet show. looked kinda like this one but gold form and a bit less top jaw. might have to hunt him down again when I have a bigger tank. I've never regretted purchasing any fish, they are all perfect in their own ways
