im a but iffy about combining treatments myself. If you try wunder tonic make sure you remove the carbon pads in the filter.

with salt water you can either go no sand / very low amount of sand or deep sand bed. its more about aesthetics with the no sand option and it assumes you have a deacent way of removing nitrates. The deep sand bed is my choice if you want a lower cost setup as it provides a good anaerobic area for de nitrifying. but if you have the option of a good trickle filter system then it would be an aesthetic thing.

was the string white?? sounds like a bad poo to me. if white and stingy could be the first signs of something nasty or could be nothing at all doesn't sound like eggs to me.

yeah 3pm is good, just to make sure its in the overnight make certain you write 'live fish' and 'Overnight' as many times as possible and 'This way up' as much as possible as well. better safe than sorry in my books

just make sure its under 20kg (or is that 25kg??) normally they will charge you for overweight once it hits the depot

I would increase the temperature to around 28-30 degrees to speed up the life cycle, at 23 - 24 degrees it can take over a month for the cycle to complete, but you'll want to remove the shrimp first as they will not handle that temp. if you can remove the fish to a quarantine tank for a few of weeks to let the protozoa die off in the main tank, try a quinine based medication such as White spot cure. Acriflavine doesn't do too much to the protozoa unfortunately. remember whitespot is only able to be killed when it is not on the fish.

I'd probably go for a Clearview 100 hangon if you have the room behind the tank to slide it in, they are tiny but effective (if you remove the carbon and use filter wool instead)

to get a better breeding rate I would try 1 male for 3 females, lets the females rest a bit after a bit of luvin

fresh water plankton = infusoria, easy to grow easy to add to tank without problem

could be a bruise from capture, internal injuries can take a few days to kill

probably took hours of cleaning before photo (yes we can see the junk bucket on the bottom left)

scoria is a good option too if you can get larger peices, has very good surface area for colonisation and is more natural looking for a NZ tank than coral

the axo will be fine with the goldfish, the other way round may not be true

just a sugestion but what are you feeding the new fry? diets lacking in particular nutrients particularly calcium, magnesium and silica can stunt growth on young fish (it was Clownfish I think) (now where did I put that link....)

cochus and columbians are regulars on the lists. moonlights are around regularly (I know of at least 2 breeding pairs) and bristlenose.......

I agree that super braid will cut anything especially fingers so make sure to wrap it around something other than your fingers

really want a minimum 6ft tank for a group of 4, they get to 35cm and are greedy as. tend to be peaceful but as per normal will eat anything bitesized. also tend to do best in a high current flow tank

yours will be about 1/2 grown, expect them to get to 12inches (30cm) they tend to be slow growers and once slightly older they get quite territorial, sorry but youll have to rehome one of them eventually anthony

and the dollars will probably shred the siamese pictus will probably munch back the cochu'sm and glass cats
