Yes, day 15 went to 0.5. Today as nitrites were still of the chart I did a large 80-90% water change. Tested again for nitrites after water change and nitrites are still off the chart.....(test tube is bright pinky purple). Have tested the same water which i have filled it up with and that is at 0ppm. Is there something wrong here??? very strange and don't know what to do.

Well... turns out we have another troph.. Went looking in there and BINGO! found heaps! Fish loooveed them Yay! my rummy nose went the brightest red i have ever seen them

I have a troph in the paddock and a few ice cream containers full of water. There are plenty of mosquito's around but can't find any larvae. Is it the right time of year? I thought in summer there would be plenty

Strange... the email on my iphone shows the pic with the fish in, but when i logged onto emails on computer the fish had disappeared...

Hey, I'm up to day 13 and ammonia has been at 1ppm for the past 6 days with nitrite off the charts. have not added any ammonia for the past few days but it just won't drop to zero, temp has been at 29'C. Nitrate sitting at 5ppm. Is it stalled or am i just being impatient?

Well my ammonia has stopped going down, and nitrites are still off the chart. Is it possible the very high nitrite levels has killed the ammonia>nitrite bacteria???

Well I have black silica sand as substrate, thinking of putting a piece of bog wood as centre piece (but have heard it will make my water really brown, and I don't want that, so am undecided). I'm thinking vallasneria for backround. Any ideas? Its going to be a community tank with schools of tetras etc

Have been to every lfs in hamilton searching for plants. There is such a limited selection, and they don't look very healthy. Where do all you waikato folk buy your plants from?

I removed it. I have put the cave in but the BN still insists in living on the filter intake. Also put a pea in but wasnt interested. My krib likes the cave though
