recommended as a dechlorinator and to make the water crystal clear. Decided to give it a go.. Made the water crystal clear, don't know if its effective against chlorine. After cloudiness disappears it leaves a white dust/film over aquarium surfaces which is a pain. But yes sounds like snake oil as I have no idea how it can claim to do all those things...

I just found this site http://dataguru.org/misc/aquarium/AmmoniaTox.html#ammonia.25ppm Looks as though from my temp being 24 deg (75 deg Fahrenheit) and ph of 7, my toxicity is .001 which is in the white zone. Don't know if this table is correct though? Anyway have done a large water change, acclimatised 5 danio, and have put them in their new home. They seem to love it so far. Will see tomorrow morning..

Sweet thanks so much! But one question.. if I dont add ammonia for 3 days won't the bacteria die? So can I add a couple of danios today after 1st 50% water change?

Hi, I have bought a rather large piece of driftwood today from animates. Has anyone bought their driftwood from animates before? and if so, what did you do before adding it into your aqaurium? Mine is currently soaking outside in a large bin.

Have tested my established aqaurium - ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm. Also just tested my nitrate levels in my tank that is cycling - 30ppm

I have been dosing a small amount when it reaches near zero (which takes a couple of days after dosing). Do you mean test my tap water or my other "established" tanks water? But yes it is very strange..

Sooo yesterday i tested the water... 0.5ppm ammonia, >5 nitrites (still off the chart), and planted two hairgrass and 3 of these other plants but have no idea what they are.. Anyway, tested my water today. and nitrites were at 0.25, ammonia 0.25.. Do the plants absorb nitrites, or was it just a coincident and my tank is almost cycled??
