  1. At least Ira's trolling is funny :gigl:
  2. Bring your mum along, I'm sure she'll love it
  3. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=60144&start=51
  4. Here's the latest photo's. Can anyone see an improvement or should I change the meds at the end of this dosing cycle? Here's a vid, hopefully I can get some more info from someone more informed?
  5. Port Nicholson Glass is a name that comes up often, haven't heard a bad thing yet.
  6. Between 4x and 10x total litrage per hour. Most people go with 4x or 5x. With heaters, I recommend 150W per 100L of water.
  7. :an!gry grrr, it looks great! Puts mine to shame...
  8. I don't think it's a heater burn. If it is, how should I treat it? Current plan is to move him to the quarantine tank (with is heating up as we speak) and dose with melafix (anti bacterial, not as potent as furan 2). I've give that a week with daily water changes and see how it goes.
  9. Found this http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=49219 but I don't think mine is this bad yet. My pleco hasn't been in with a turtle, so I'm really wondering where the hell he has caught a virus :dunno: IF that is what it is? :dunno:
  10. Any ideas? This was him a couple of days ago, no sign of it. My last water test came back with higher than desired levels of nitrate. I have since been doing 50% water changes twice a week, rather than 25% weekly. I had hoped that these would help, but I have not had a chance to get the water tested again since.
  11. Welcome Yes, the plants can get very addictive. I'm still trying to convince the wife to let me buy more, and she's still telling me to be patient and let the current plants grow some more first... :nilly:
  12. I often ask how they connect my phone number (which they tell me they got out of the phone book) with my IP address. They then ask what an IP address is...
  13. Need a krib to sort them out?
  14. I think that since the commercially available ones are so inexpensive, very few people have tried to improve them. Bristlenose do a good job, and I hear otto's are great too.
  15. A few of us have notified TradeMe about the listing. However, the most that TradeMe could do is pull the listing, which is dooming that fish to its nearly 7L fate. The best option for the fish would be to buy it and re-home it, but that is not preventing this issue from arising again.
  16. Well if we're guessing... I'm thinking it looks like... fish leprosy. On a more serious note: Has it affected/infected anything else yet? Or just Lamprey and Trout?
  17. And that's a quick way to sum up what I'm trying to write about.
