  1. That's the length of my room I guess I don't reeeeeally need a bed now do I? :rotf:
  2. That sounds so wicked !drool: Man I want a bigger tank now!
  3. Thanks! I'll give it a go, may start with 1gm and see how it goes. That's fine for plants?
  4. So it looks like I have a bit of whitespot in my community  Little platty has a couple of spots and is flashing, a few neons have one or two spots and I suspect they're the culprits. I've already done a 35% ish waterchange (and gravel vac) this afternoon, water quality is fine. Have turned the water temp up to 30 degrees and given a half-dose of whitespot cure. Would salt be a better option for a planted tank? I dont what them to be ruined - I've tried to research but havent had much luck  If so what's a good dose? Tank has BNs, neons, angels, a fighter and a few guppies.
  5. We have bamboo blinds downstairs that let alot of light in even when closed  I usually take my pics at night but I'm rather impatient :happy2:
  6. Just had to share these 'Then&Now' Pics of the 165L It's been just 4 weeks between the two pictures (keep in mind - no ferts etc) I've also started my dwarf puffer project. It's housing some guppies at the moment until the plants grow a bit more :happy2:
  7. Love the colouring on the second betta Trilobite !drool:
  8. Yeap. Well thats what I learnt when I did a paper on them for uni :smln:
  9. Green oily surface scum has made a home in my tank also - just after adding plants
  10. I did a bunch of waterchanges, re-scaped a tank, and watched one of my guppies give birth to about 100 fry Two drops over the last few days = A 2ft FULL of fry. I'm a very happy fish keeper :happy2:
  11. My girl from animates is dropping now, started right in the middle of a water change :happy2: The babies are fluro purple Very cool, might have to go down and get a couple more! Anyone know what strain has purple fry? Anyway, sorry for taking over your thread :smot:
  12. I know what you mean! I had to wait 8 weeks for mine to drop Not that I have seen, but I don't get out to HFF much. I might ask the guy at animates if he can try get some in, he's pretty good with that
  13. Yup, they're so tiny and cute! I've counted 10 now so I think I counted a few twice before. Still, pretty thrilled with 10!
  14. Yup, all albino snakeskin :happy2: I did a 50% water change in the evening before and turned out the lights. She started dropping about 10am
  15. My only albino female had 12 fry today :happy1: So thrilled!
  16. :rotf: Here's hoping!! I'm not sure if all 12 will survive, 8 are free swimming but 4 are still kinda resting at the bottom and only swimming occasionally. Still, better than nothing, I was begining to think she might be infertile or just have stillborns
  17. Just watched my albino guppy give birth to her first fry! There's 12 tiny pink babies all up :happy1: I went over to look at her, noticed she was looking a bit more square than usual, then POP! A teeny little pink squiggle fell out Rushed around getting the dads out of the tank then caught the babies one by one and put them in a fry tank :nilly:
  18. Looks like my timing was pretty spot on! Just watched her give birth to 12 (I think) tiny pink babies :happy1:
  19. I'm so happy for you!! That's just fantastic news!! It must be such a load off to know he's safe :happy2: Extra cuddles for kitty for awhile I'm sure!
  20. Yeap, Botany, they have a fair few It's hard to see under their lighting so go for the ones that look clear. They have a nice pinky purple sheen so hopefully will have some nice babies!
  21. I name my particularly special fish, but I couldn't name all my neons, guppies etc I have Felix and Cocoa (Angelfish) & Faulks the fighting fish. Oh and my one lone baby plattie that snuck in with the angel fish has been dubbed Petey
  22. I'm having the same issue, there's not enough nice females available, particularly albino  Just got back from animates, picked up a nice pink, black eye female, she'll have to do I guess
  23. They're ment to be super agressive but a 2ft is probably a good size for 3 or more so as long as its heavily planted What size tank do you have your 6 in? Do they seem to get along well? I went to animates today and they only had one but boy was he cute!
  24. Here's hoping this one gives me a lot of fry too  She's definately a bit of a fatty!
