  1. So I have been noticing lately that there is a weird sort of build up forming on my plants. ( see pics ) It has always been there but not so much to this extent. I had been reading some interesting information about water flow in the aquarium and changed my outlet to a small circular one from the spray bar to increase the water flow. Apart from that noting else has changed. I had wondered if anybody else had seen this before and if it were common? The only thing I can think of would be to add a finer wool to my filter. Also on the subject of filters. My filter pipes are full of gunk and maybe even the build up that is getting caught on the plants. Is this normal. It doesn’t come out ( noticeably ) unless I am restarting the filter. Any advice would be great thanks.
  2. Yeah tanks looks great, good luck with the breeding. What is that foreground plant under tha sag? Amd where do I get some?
  3. Kind of funny reading posts from ford and holden lovers they are so biased and then I realize how much I talk about my Alfa, perhaps one day I will own a Ford or Holden. Until then I am on the fence when it comes to V8 Supercars, I just like to watch good racing, don't really prefer one over the other. ( unless somehow Alfas run at Bathurst then my allegiance is clear)
  4. was quite emotional watching that win. Hopefully many more to come.
  5. I will always be your fan magnum.
  6. How much to stay at this themed hotel and any vacancys? Looking good man keep up the pics.
  7. As I understand it the ends are like bracing, hence why they would have been able to take the change in pressure on the corner. I would remove about half if you can and measure before and after to the nearest mm ( not at the corner but along the front where the bracing ended and the length ) . If there is a big shift you may need to empty more but I doubt there will be. Will know a bit more with tank dimentions. You should be able to cut the bracing off and reattach it while the tank is half full. It would help if while the brace was off you could attach some duct tape or something similar across the width and length to be safe. I doubt you will need it but just incase.
  8. ha, whatever it is I am changing occupation.
  9. is that your own personal collection?
  10. Nice space, that would make a perfect studio for me. Perhaps run the garden thinner and down through the pillars and have seats either side.
  11. Yeah I want to see more, you should have your own dedicated thread.
  12. Stink but good at the same time. Good luck and sorry for your loss.
  13. ^ yeah you are right, it is easy to pigeon hole breeds according to limited experience. I can't tell you how many times people have gotten upset with my dog for defending himself. When you have a good looking dog though you have to make sure it is trained well, if it hurts a child or another dog there really is nobody else to blame. Not everybody has the same outlook on doggy behaviour though, some people wont even let their dog near mine and some people understand that dogs are dogs, asking them to act and behave like a human is plain silly. Technically that young girl shouldn't have been walking the dog ( if she couldn't control it that is ). No preparing for other idiots walking their dogs.
  14. regardless of how she has come to know the term as small dog syndrome, the information she was trying to get across was valid.
  15. I saw that documentary, quite sad in places. Found out a while ago my boy has hip dysplasia, changes everything. If you are getting a pure breed I would advise getting some history and doing some research. Although take all of this with a pinch of salt, it is what it is at the end of the day. common sense and all that.
  16. I agree with Ashzbetta. Really it doesn't matter what you get as long as you are prepared to train it and it suits your lifestyle. Most dogs come with some type of warning from other owners. All that stuff can be found on the net pretty easily. poodles and Bichons would be great. I have found them highly intelligent and easy to train.
  17. I haven't seen anything better, but I haven't been to much else. I could spend hours in there but they usually send me on my way.
  18. I think it is one of those things that you have to do once before you can understand it better. I would practice with some scraps of glass if you care about appearance ect. Not a lot of info in the net about building but there is a good video on you tube. Check out rickets reef on YT There are a few ways to do it, I take 3 days to build a tank, not because it is better but because it is more comfortable for me. Good luck I am sure you will be fine. Make sure the old silicone is clean and no residue left. A good blade and turps will be good fro that.
