  1. Inspired by other current events, I find some solace can be found by reading ramblings of great men. Not really the place for Terminator quotes but it is a free society so what ever floats your boat My favourite of all time has to go to Mandela. Partial quote "I have walked that long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter; I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb." Nelson Mandella. Enjoy and quote away.
  2. I think it is a mix of quotes and maybe manipulated a bit over time. he definitely said parts of it though because I remember the darkness/ love part from media studies. Edit: yeah, a bit of research shows they are separate quotes but seem to be from his mouth. I love quotes, we need a quotes thread.
  3. Im'a call you butter from now on cause you are on a roll. :smln:
  4. Don't say that bro, they that be watching us will be invading the farm next door in no time
  5. Yeah he did claim responsibility but at what end? In the same way that Obama claims responsibility for killing him? Just because he says it does not mean that it is true. Regardless, it is common acceptance that he did have a hand in it somehow, I just wonder about the questions that we need answers to. From the news report tonight ( albeit TV3 which I consider somewhere between Fox News and Stuff.co.nz ) They said that that he was in a room with a female and he refused to come of his own accord ( no mention of him having weapons ect ) so they shot him twice in the head and then buried him at sea, while the President and Mrs Clinton watched via satellite. This is getting interesting, I can't wait to see how this story develops. No doubt more of the story will unfold as the U.S. sees fit to release it. What picture of his body ? Do you mean the potatoshoped on doing the rounds on the net? If there is a link can you PM me rather than posting it here.
  6. 2 tubes? you aren't supposed to snack on the stuff while you make the tank
  7. I am awaiting the angry birds release
  8. I would agree with that thought Sunbird, except for the fact that they report as knowing his whereabouts then bombing the place by drone and then moving in to get him and shooting him in the head. Then disposing of the body without any proof. So the rest of the world had since forgotten about the guy and just become accustom to the U.S.'s presence in the Middle East. They find him, kill him, take no evidence and make a matyr out of him. That leaves it to open for the U.S. to be "attacked" again and then invade whomever they say attacked them. All too conspiracy theory for me but it does raise eyebrows. It is not like the guy would go quietly that is understandable. But The Bin Laden family is very powerful and have been strong investors within the United States for a long time. Wouldn't you want to return the body to them so they can mourn him. I hope those reports are false and that there can be at least some truth from a formal inquiry. Hussein Killed thousands more than Osama did and he got to stand trial in two countries. This all just seems fishy to me. :happy1: I understand that P44, I really do. But there is no proof that he was "behind" the attacks we only know him as the front man. If he was behind it then how behind it was he, these questions we will never know. and to be fair we don't actually know he is dead. How would you feel if your jumping up and down with joy was filmed and then shown on the news in the middle east and then edited by extremist recruiters and shown to young Muslims in an effort to get pay back or Osamas death. And that jumping for joy of the death of a man that we know nothing about was directly related to the next attack. We live in the west, this is not a tit for tat society. We don't fill the streets and chant USA at the death of one man, even though countless others died to get him. It makes for a very ill society when we act like those that we are trying to stop. This is not the end of the war on terror.
  9. It's disgusting because people are publicly celebrating a death in a jingoistical exaggerated fashion. This is not something that the west is used to and is usually frowned upon. Fox media coverage showed an all white crowd ( probably not on purpose ) celebrating like mad. A young Jihadist watching that would get his blood boiling I am sure. I feel for the Americans and their losses, but there is a difference between celebrating revenge and bringing an "evil man" to justice. What were the alternatives? Who decided this man was guilty and not just the "face man"? Has this set a precedence for all future bad men? I see nothing good to come of this at all.
  10. This  If it turns out to be true, the death of Osama could turn out to spawn a lot more radicals looking to attack the U.S.and in turn us, he is now a martyr. The problem I see with him dying is that there will be no trial and no answers that we need. It is one thing to believe the media coverage or to follow one of the many conspiracies but with out trial or some sort of answers we are subject to what ever we are told. Regardless of the stink anybody kicks up about what really happened the heat will cool off and our following generations political and religious decisions will be effected by what they are told and taught. On face value Osama is a bad man, America is good, the bad man is dead and America rules. Yet we spent ten years bombing the crap out of 2 countries in the East killing at least tens of thousands of innocent people just to pretty much get 2 men and a bunch of cronies but probably creating a thousand in their place. Yet there is so much paperwork and PC crap that none of us can help Lybia and Syria. - is that something to celebrate? Personally what confuses me is the "fact" that 1 man instigated 9/11, played the best game of hide n seek the world has ever seen for 10 years even though the greatest military in the world was after him then out of nowhere he is chillaxing in a mansion and gets bombed by a drone. Then he is dna tested and thrown out to sea and all before the world new it happened.
  11. Although I somewhat agree, In most cases there is always debate because of difference of opinion. I happen to think that it is not a good thing that he is dead but there is a slim chance that discussing that would lead to some higher form of education on the subject. ( for both parties ) Thus it would seem that a pointless argument would insue and everybody would get very angry. Plenty of other forums around for that.
  12. This thread should be deleted under the forum rules and guidelines.
  13. +1 I would break the tank down remove all silicone and remake it. Better that than fixing the back and then the sides breaking the next week.
  14. Handy thread. The plants in my tank are not dying so I am happy with my lights but I want to look into getting a PAR meter, just because I like to know.
  15. So happy for you. Am I on the list?
  16. Put a no fishing sign in there. Edit: * not paying attention *

  24. The wool has been in there a fair while, but the fact that you mentioned wool and that I had previously thought that it was the culprit, reasures me that it is. Thanks
