ignoranus old me thought that "declawing" was just clipping claws. looking into it, i see why it is banned, they remove the piece of bone that the claw grows from, taking a chunk of their foot pad with it. takes weeks for cat to recover, often they never fully recover, behaviour changes are common. i have seen harmless animal claw trimmers on tv. would trimmed and blunted claws help reduce the number of skitz's victims? might have to see it in action to find out.
