wow and here i was thinking that 6Mbps was fast. guess that comes from growing up on 14,400k modems getting an average speed of around 2400k. DONT PICK UP THE PHONE!! as long as i can stream family guy without it buffering every few seconds then i'm happy. you guys with your flash cellphones doing your net, are you on 4G?

for what it's worth, it was that and your iwagumi thread which inspired me to get back into planted tanks. after several years of rocks and terracotta, i had almost forgotten how much i enjoy them. i now have a nice set up. well, nice by my standards, i still got nothing on most of you aquarium pimps. cheers bro

i used a sunsun for a while and was told it was quite noisy. maybe i got a bad one. my fluval 104 and 304 are very, very quiet - apparently. personally i can't hear much of anything these days. if you can't find a quiet filter you should try playing in metal bands for 15 years and losing half your hearing. worked well for me.

if you are giving him away free or cheap as chips just be careful that he is going to a proper home and not someone that only takes it because it's free...

yeah, in that photo, it was a 20w 2 foot light, on the floor under the tank, facing towards the wall.

i think BGK eyesight is pretty dim at the best of times anyway, hence their developed electrical navigation. i used to use a very small low light overnight with my falcor (RIP) so that it was dark enough for him to come out and dance, but light enough so that other fish could see him, and so i could still see his silhouette dancing against the background. it looked rad. aww, i miss him.

my BGK used to eat the other fish only at night time when the lights were off, since he has that awesome electrical prey locating system. so, i was thinking, if there was a small night light on the tank during night time, just enough so the fish could see, then the BGK wouldn't have the advantage of the darkness to be able to catch the little fish as easy.... just a thought

there's many different types of superglue, some have cyanide in them.. i'd be too worried to do it even if someone said it would be ok. you can't get hory and melt them together?

too true. goldfish are the worst for wastage! i was holding four 15-20cm goldfish in a 200l tank for a few days, and i had to change 90% of the water twice daily, morning and night, just to stop them from stinking out my bedroom - but it still stank! did i tell you about the time i had one of them out of the water, in my hand, upside down, trying to vent it to determine gender, and it peed this long warm jet of stinky wees all up my arm past my elbow...?! haha!
