  1. haha last time I went there I saw so many hybrids
  2. unfortunately he has passed away. bloody kribensis >.< also kiiled (overnight!) another guppy female sucks to have breeding pairs to only have cichlids kill them! dirty kribensis! they've gone into breeding mode and are super aggressive ATM on another note, I have just got a 120/45/45 tank which will be the replacement of my over stocked 2x 60/30/30 so more room = less aggression hopefully
  3. ok will post back how he goes although its not looking to good
  4. MY wild kribs have been roughing my guppys up for the last couple of weeks it wasn't so bad up until today when I noticed my male guppy has a HUGE amount of his tail missing, he still has the length but 80% of his tail is gone including his top fin. this surprised me as yesterday he was normal with a few nips here an there, hes eating alil an wimming barely, have put him in different tank with salt bath Does anyone know if he can recover from this sorta injury? or is it best to put him in the freezer?
  5. when you buy fish ask if they will give you some dirty filter wool/sponge generally they will be happy to give you some an all you gota do is just put it in your filter an its away. water changes will help don't buy chemicals waste of time an money if you don't buy young fish an you keep a close eye on them they should be hardy enough to handle the water changing but I wouldn't do it with rams aye... like its been said they are sensitive an you'll most likely have deaths if you do
  6. TBH if you can provide a stable loving environment an have no past history of violence ect then there is no reason they will deny you seeing your kids(frankly they have no right what so ever) 2 parents are much better than 1 an I wish you luck ! stay strong!
  7. its cool I won't tell doc lol

    lf ideas

just a heads up be very careful what you add to your tank. an use less than directed to test how it reacts..
  9. cheers I have this plastic an the equipment at work so its quite easy for me to do this for a home DIY you looking at probably 50$ minimum for all the materials and tools required so they are definitely not cheaper to make yourself and im happy to do them nice an cheap for the forum members
  10. tbh I've only owned standard plecos but they are nice fish. I would have got goldspot but these are what I have now an I won't risk selling them to a bad home for the sakes of a colour bonus ive got 4 and thats enough to keep all my tanks perfectly clean video idea-someone should get an empty tank covered with alge except 1 wall an film 1 bristle nose go at it in high speed nonstop until its clean
  11. already some great suggestions My personal fav is the gold spot
  12. not as small as a fish net but not big enough for a guppy new born to pass through - its hard to find material that will hold up for long periods of time and also be chemical free as well as have tiny tiny holes the slightly larger holes are good for flow to, I think the fish net netting would be to weak which would end up wearing thin/tearing quickly an not allow enough flow at the same time(I also could not find a supplier for this)
  13. Hi everyone Well this probably looks an sounds stupid an this will probably a crash an burn idea...but here goes I've been using these tank dividers in my breeding tanks an well... they've worked well for me so far made of food grade plastic you can eat off these if you needed an chemical free netting http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... 15&ed=true this is my trial auction cheaper than glass cheaper to run than glass(due to only needing 1 filter an 1 heater) easier to use than glass simply put them in an pull them out no glueing or fixing needed no need to setup separate tanks felxible plastic that will only break is bent a certain way or cut using a specific tool... I've been using these for a while now an not had 1 death in any of my tanks and im confident this will not alter any water parameters what so ever anyways what im after is some feedback good or bad, rubbish me if you wish no offense will be taken I can cut and bend this plastic to most shapes or designs and cant cut holes in for heater to go through an also add rubber sides for a cleaner look I dunno just let me know what you think
  14. I would also like to know this
  15. wow awesome spider pics. Been looking for these for a while but they are rare as it is
  16. is that some sort of disorder or something? i've got a guppy that is huge for its size but that is probably twice as big
  17. the one at the top in 2nd pic looks to be female while the others are male.females get fat belly quite fast an males are slender with pointy top fin an light red flat belly .males also tend to have the nicer orange with spots on tail fin to.. I've got some that are just coming into maturity and females are generally easy to tell apart because of the fat belly nice photos an nice fish
  18. WOW NAV! thats insane Only 3 here, but as soon as the babies grow out I have a feeling its going to get awfully crowded in there haha 1x 3ft with peacocks 2x 2ft with kribensis all breeding away
  19. Mt Eden dubstep plays alot of shows my friend went to one said it was cool, Get him a ticket or something next time they're in town
  20. oh now I get ya thanks il wait for the signs you mentioned
  21. I'm asking how long AFTER I can see the gravid spot (is it black because of eyes of babies ?) they breed like crazy I just wana know when I should separate the female...
  22. I've got a female guppy with a gravid spot appearing and just wondering how long before she gives birth? Got her in a tank with catfish shes quite a nice female an the male is nice to. When I put her in a breeding trap both male an female stressed out so I let her out. So wondering how much time I have before she needs to be in her own tank?
