  1. I do not do water changes over the summer months as it causes a lot of problems. I suspect it has to do with the low water table, from our artesian source, concentrating the nutrients. My tank has not had a water change yet this year but it was topped up in early Feb. I have a lot of plants and a low fish load. Filter gets cleaned every 18 months - 2 years.

OK, we do not want to get into a religious argument or I will remove the thread. I spent the afternoon up at A&E after my dad was taken into hospital by ambulance. They still don't know what his problem is but for once it is not his heart or bleeding from somewhere! He has gone home on strong painkillers and hopefully will improve in the next few days. :dunno:

    The What's Up? thread.

I read enough to take note of which retailer or organisation put it there and then I go out of my way to avoid shopping at, or helping, those businesses. I loathe having stuff shoved under my wipers, I consider it vandalism! Luckily for me I rarely drive anywhere and do not have wipers on my bike
  4. Not at all Adrienne. I am saying many bike shops all over the place have useless websites And redracer77's is even worse cos it's broked
  5. I have the addresses of various bike shops in the Nelson area and looked at their websites - all except Bicycle Business 'cos theirs doesn't work! Why do so many of them list their products only by brand name? If you are not an enthusiast, brand names mean nothing. I need a menu that says, for example, road bikes, mountain bikes, electric bikes, etc
  6. Cool! Do you have some in stock?
  7. Thanks Alan, that was very helpful  If Sheryl can remember the brand I would appreciate it. My sister has an EON but I do not like the battery placement. It is on the carrier and has a load limit of 15kg. Others have the battery elsewhere out of the way. A local shop will be getting some Gladway's but couldn't tell me which styles. An I-Zip I think. The local stores were not very helpful so I am planning to look in Nelson next week.
  8. Anyone got one? If so, what sort and why did you choose that one?
  9. Planting more fast growing plants ought to help reduce the nutrients on which the algae feeds. Four plants is very little for 130L.
  10. It will probably take you that long stuck in traffic to get back to the airport
  11. You can't put me off wok, I am coming anyway!! :gigl: :dnc1:
  12. I don't think the hobby itself has a problem with enthusiasm, it is the clubs. People today (speaking very generally) seem to prefer to look stuff up on the internet rather than attend a meeting. Our club has problems in that half the members work different shifts (and these change too for some) so it is impossible to get a time that suits the majority.
  13. Because he also posted similar in the salt water area and wants freshies to move over to the Dark Side
  14. Me. I can admire the tanks there but resist the urge to set up my own :bggrn:
  15. It would have been Douglas Adams' 61st birthday - RIP to a frood who always knew where his towel was

    Who am I?

I actually did get a choccy fish today - after being on the winning tug of war team

    Who am I?

Nancy Wake was an amazing woman. More so since the majority of people had never heard of her until she died

I dunno - he could probably do with the exercise :rolfl:

I hope it wasn't Denny she was chasing!
  22. My Anubias is planted - not deeply though. It does just as well like that or attached to driftwood.
