  1. I don't like to ring her in case she is busy cleaning up. If she only has cordless phones and no power she won't be able to answer anyway!
  2. Add posts to the other thread please now please so we keep it all together. I never have anything above my bed, like pictures, because of quakes.
  3. Gareth said it half emptied their goldfish pond outside. Two of their cats have disappeared but he is sure they will be back. The other one, like Jenna's, just wanted his breakfast. It was only a few looters Barrie and cops put a stop to it quickly. It happens everywhere unfortunately and yes, kiwis loot too!
  4. As a domestic user, I doubt it. If you only use the basics, I can't see why you would ever need the full version but I am not a hobby photographer. If Supersi has PMd you the advantages of the full version perhaps then he could post them so we can all learn something. Of course, if he was just PMing you a super deal on one of the versions then we need not know I have always found Photo Elements did all I need. Crop, clone, alter colours etc.
  5. There is a thread going in off topic
  6. How is Donna and all the turtles?
  7. That is a good price for that version. You can get Adobe Photo Elements for around $200. This is a stripped down version of Photoshop and will probably do all you want.
  8. I know you have no power but have any of you ChCh people got access to the Net via phones etc? How are you all? Son said they lost a lot of water out of the tanks, TV and computer monitor smashed, a mess as everything came down off shelves etc but they are OK and nobody hurt. A lot of building and road damages with some bridges collapsed too. I slept through it here but my daughter felt it. I gather it was felt in the North Is too.
  9. I keep looking for hobbits (possibly with snorkels)
  10. I agree with Phoenix44. The roundness clashes.
  11. I think we have a couple of NZ based marine sites too that some are members of as well
  12. Someone will be writing an article and sending me pics I am sure HINT HINT
  13. Tuesday is another great meeting of people of similar thinking. A foodie meeting eh?
  14. I imagine slate is readily available from landscape places or tile shops.
  15. Are these sitting on gravel or glass base? I ask because the slate bases seem quite large and I wonder if you will get dead areas underneath, or if you will regularly lift them to siphon underneath? I too like using slate but have always stacked them, not siliconed them together. Also not used a base, just sit them on the gravel. Siliconing is safer of course as you don't have to worry about a fish bumping the sides and having it collapse on them :-?

    Lion Fish

Illegal as far as I know.
  17. From what I have heard from others who have kept them, if the pair have grown up together they can cope with a 4ft but they are better to be in something larger. Two in a 240L need a lot of filtration and maintenance!
  18. Tell him he can advertise here as long as the same fish are not being offered for sale elsewhere at the same time - especially on Trademe as it is against their rules.

    Driftwood

File, trim or scrape the burnt bits off and the rest should be fine I think.
  20. But Henward's theory it is enchanted is more interesting!
  21. Instead of holding the front end closed you should try it at the back end. Then the waste would not be able to escape
  22. Really weird. I suspect it could be rata or rimu but I have this and mine has never 'smoked'. Most intriguing.

Welcome to another Pictonite. I have sent you a PM with Sally's contact.
  24. Next one will be different again as we may be trialling another printer
