  1. walking is allowed, I do that if the weather permits it. My body gets sick so quickly from being broken down by a gazillion courses of antibiotics I was on after the op so I have to be careful not to get caught out in rain. I basically must try and prevent to many armswinging motions. I was naughty and played lets dance with my kids, was in super pain that night :-? but my kids enjoyed it
  2. Gosh I am needing some support and was wondering if anyone else out there male/female needs some support now while trying to lose weight. I lost just over 35kg to qualify for a breastreduction surgery but had complicated surgery and was flat on my back for two months feeling sorry for myself and eating pies and chocolates as if they were gonna stop manufacturing them  now I am 20kg heavier and need to lose that again I have lost just over 4kg since starting my diet, unfortuanatly no exercise allowed till October so weight is droppins super slowly. Any body out there also trying to lose weight and finding it hard ?
  3. That does not sound too bad, perhaps try and get the ph down a teeny bit but 7.4 is not seriously high to cause death. They do specify they are omnivores so perhaps give a bit more bloodworm and brineshrimp. I have the exact same tank, its a lovely tank. Maybe do two 20% waterchanges this week just to make sure you get all uneaten food and stuff out. I only have teeny fish in my tank so not sure about whether you are overstocked or not, does not sound like it, but I am also new in the hobby. For your ph problem try aragonite that is what I have in my tank to stabilize my ph.
  4. is it possible to give us all your water parameters and how high is the ph? What were you feeding the fish ? Here is some info I found on them •Scientific Name: Melanotaenia boesemani •Common Name: Boeseman's Rainbowfish •Family: Melanotaeniidae •Origin: New Guinea •Adult Size: 4 inches (10 cm) •Social: Peaceful, suitable for community tanks •Lifespan: 5 years •Tank Level: Top, Mid dweller •Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallon •Diet: Omnivore, enjoys live foods •Breeding: Egglayer •Care: Intermediate •pH: 7.0 •Hardness: 8-15 dGH •Temperature: 81-86 F (27-30 C)

    hard working dog

Very clever little doggy, I am still trying to teach my 12 year old son to close doors behind him
  9. From reading many of your posts Ira, I would guess you are a teen, but I may be wrong. That is why I did not bash an eyelid when you said you were a bitter cynical 50 year old, cause your posts could go either way, a cheeky teen or a cynical old person :sml1: . Put us out of our missery and tell us your real age now :spop:
  10. Awsome pics, wow you must have had a super time. I would never want to leave

  12. That is a hard one :-? Different things can look great for us but not for you. I suggest you look at a whole lot of our tanks in the members tanks section and see if you like something. I currently have a planted tank with a huge school of harlequins which look very nice for me, but you might prefer a bigger fish or more colourful fish. Its really up to you, but have a look around at other tanks and decide from there
  13. Me too, but I dont use ferts, co2 and special lights, so I must just be happy with my giddy yup I have now :-?
  14. http://www.aquascapingworld.com/gallery/images/399/1_rio_300_st_genevieves_des_bois.jpg I think this is so cool, but how long do you think it will take for plants to grow like that. Keep in mind that I am talking about just a normal running tank with normal lighting. No special lighting and co2. edited to add pic is from aquascapingworld.com
  15. My computer is starting to really insist I upgrade to IE9 should I still ignore it or is all the probs sorted with it not showing pics and so on?

Ok, I must be getting old, or just super unfit due to the lack of exercise after my op in March. But I can hardly move today I am so stiff and guess what my kids are playing now ..... Yip you got it lets dance 2 Wish I had their energy and fitness levels and muscles :slfg:
  17. I have one harlequin in my tank with one eye and one witn no eyes. The one with no eyes is called Zombie and even he can find food and lives happily in my tank. Your girl will be ok, she might just need a little more love from you

Nearly gave myself a heart attack playing lets dance 2 on wii with my two very fit children. :sage:
  19. :rotf: well said Adrienne :slfg:
  20. My opinion is as follow. I would love to one day have a gold spot pleco or a common pleco but my tank is only 90cm and they reach 60cm so its not possible. Even if I add more filters and keep my water prystine, my fish will be unconfortable. it won't be able to turn and have a little swim around. No one says I can't put it in there, I just think its wrong from the fish's point of view. I would not like to have a teeny tiny bedroom where I can hardly move to get to my bed, even if my room is clean and vacuumed everyday and has tons of lovely fresh air
  21. On the ouside I use Mr Muscle glass cleaner. What I do, is spray the Mr Muscle on my papertowel in the kitchen and then I walk to the lounge to clean the tank, so I do not spray it any place near the tank
  22. I am suprised how many of you there are between 10 and 20, I feel old now :sage:
  23. Josh that one drove me potty and crashed my internet :slfg: Caryl I love that pic
