  1. Fantastic news :happy2: in a couple of months you won't even remember struggling like this
  2. Hi Crittercrazy the little puffers are going strong. Turns out I have two males, but they get along fine so no moving about now. Both are mature with wrinkles and lines they play well together, must be brothers  Update on my tank. Thinned out some plants to give my zebra loach and chocolate zebras some floorspace. When I did my waterchange some of the duckweed went down into the christmas moss and got stuck there, I think it looks nice, just not sure whether a floating plant will survive under water though :dunno: Well here is some pics, I am starting to like my tank very much

Yay for you SamH :happy2: , oh no for you the-obstacle I did my waterchanges today as well, usally hubby helps me and when we refil the tank then I hold my hand out so he pours the water into my hand so that it does not disrupt all the plants, today he was not here so no hand, but a very cute looking christmas moss now, cause as I poured the water in the duckweed went down and got stuck all over the christmas moss. looks as if the christmas moss has little flowers now. will update a pic now with my plant thread so you guys can see

She is seven today  We just got home after a busy day wit Stephanie. We woke her up with a birthday cake and singing. Then we took her to the teddy factory where she picked her own teddy, stuffed it, dressed it and made it a birthcertificate, its so cute. Watched Kunfu Panda 2 in the beanbag cinema, great fun that and then bought her a zhuzhu puppy with a bag. Home now playing Lets dance All in all I have one very happy little seven year old

Phew just finished this cake for my daughters birthday tomorrow. I bought the teddies and flowers but the rest I made myself, I think next time I will attempt all the little things myself
  8. http://www.hollywoodfishfarm.co.nz/detail/view/seachem-garlic-guard-250ml/m/943/ I buy the big bottle like the one in the link from Hollywoods. The smaller bottle does not last as long and its quite a drive for me there
  9. http://www.weatherwatch.co.nz/content/tsunami-marine-warnings-place-auckland-east-cape-land-warnings-cancelled don't worry its not that bad, but boy it could have been and I could have been right :slfg: but mr man is right
  10. I kept the kids out until now when they confirmed its only a marine warning. I am staying in Beachlands until it passed, so that if they update just before arrival that its bad then I can grab my kids and head for the hills. Mr man is saying see I told you its not serious  edited to add. LOL Alanmin and Carlos & Siran we posted the same time. Its not completely cancelled for east coast its just a marine warning now.
  11. I am just about to climb the walls out, I have taken each warning seriously since we live with water all around us on a peninsuela part of the island, so this one which the news say is closer to us especially east coast should be taken seriously is scaring me a bit so I want to go to higher ground with my kids until it past, but the man in the house wants to go stand on the blimming road by the cliff and look at this phenomana and keep the kids in school

is supposed to try and sleep but I am so nervous for tomorrow I can't. I am going for an interview to see if I qualify to do a special needs teacher aide course so I can become one professionally for the ministry of education and not just as a volunteer parent help at school :yaw1: gotta go to sleep ...gotta go to sleep
  13. My little puffers do that with bloodworms, I love when they do that, you can see the one is trying to slurp up the worm faster than the other one, and when their mouths meet then its a big wiggling off the tails and colouring up to show the other one who is boss until one lets go or the worm tears in two :slfg:
  14. I had a look at that aswell, and two adults and two kids is a bit more than I expected, my son is at transformers now, but they are keen for cars 2, so will rather take them to that
  15. What I usually do is fill the gravel vac with water and lift it higher than the tank so the water runs into the pipe, just as the water starts running into the bucket (which should also be lower than the tank since gravity causes the flow) then I put my finger infront of the tube to stop the flow, then I dunk the gravelvac back into the water upside down this time and sucking should start, there is lots of videos on youtube to explain this for you as well. Hold the gravelvac right down in the gravel/stones and let it suck all the dirt out, once the dirt is out lift it a little and go to a new spot. If you have sand then hold it just above the sand as to not suck all the sand out of your tank, Hope this helped you out in some way
  16. My sister Zonya on my friendlist, she has a bridal pic's, birhtdate is 1 November 1990
  17. Bloodworms are my puffer's staple diet, the snails are a treat. I buy frozen bloodworms, then I take a small plate and poor a little garlic guard in it, I use my tweezers to move the frozen bloodworms around in the garlic until the worms start coming loose from the frozen block and then I feed them to my puffers by wiggling them infront of them. They love it and usually fill their tummies super big full of them. Puffers are known to get intestinal problems so the garlic guard helps out with preventing that as well. The left over bloodworms, not usually a lot goes to my main tank and helps fight intestinal probs that side too. I really suggest you try and feed bloodworms as well, as its mostly their staple food Have a look around here http://www.dwarfpuffers.com/ you will learn lots of interesting things about your little puffers
  18. That is so kind of you, sorry I did not see this earlier. I will have a chat with my hubby and get back to you via pm

    The What's Up? thread.

Had just about no sleep lastnight (had a wisdom tooth extracted yesterday) so been browsing around since 4am when I got tired of staring into darkness. Gotta wake the kids now and get them dressed for soccer, then its off to one soccermatch and then to the other one (two different locations and a husband at work) then home where I get my son ready for a birthday party, then my daughter and I are going to watch gnomeo and juliet and yogi bear, she got the dvd's last night
  23. ok no kitset then, I am not clued up enough for the other options, so my plants will just have to grow slowly and look a bit droopy at times
