  1. I have been looking art my tang books and want to list more LOL.
  2. I can understand this line of thinking but about six months ago HFF asked members what they would like to see come in and the shellies finally made it here! Why don't they or someone else try this again? If big ticket fish are possible to be brought in, ask for a deposit! No cash, no fish. This seems fair and relatively simple to sort out the people with real intent from the pack. Some people here know I am happy to buy 1 or 2 exspensive fish and join my fish with a colony to be a decent sized breeding group up and then take some of the fry in exchange for them keeping the orginal fish.
  3. Title to thread. What Tropheus/Africans do you want? And would you pay? Ryan is asking for our favourites, everybody who keeps Africans will have their our favs.
  4. All tangs Cyprichromis sp. Xenotilapia sp. Paracyprichromis nigripinnis neolamprologus cylindricus 'Mamalesa' Enantiopus sp. Cyathopharynx sp. plus the gobies and this eel Aethiomastacembelus elipsifer God knows on price, what ever it would be it probably not cheap. First my eyes would be like this then this  and finally this :tears: And probably cause by my partner going like this :an!gry
  5. hmmmm... RPG?? The snails will be :digH: If you do find a way of knocking off your snails please post. I have tried trapping (don't have the patience) and I also have Yoyo loaches (seems to be working but slowly). But I want my tank to be afrcians only again and those loaches just don't fit in.
  6. OMG it actually snowed down here!!!!!!! Our Norwegian forest cats have finally met snow and for a cat that normally lives it that type of environment (in the wild), they were not happy to be away from the heater!!! :slfg:
  7. Awesome read, thanks for link. Ryan, It is time for that secret growth hormone to get them larger to ship down here!!

    Just got...

an eheim 2224. OMG it is soooooo quiet. I think I have fallen in love    I might beable to get my partner to agree to a tank in the bedroom now  NOT!! I replaced my old tired fluval and thought I would give eheim a go after years of using fluval filters
  10. Yup quite weird. Mine have survived a lack of oxygen in tank when a spray wand fell in and stopped surface movement (they gasp (goldfish style), for anyone who did not know this before) , temps down to 12-14 degrees when I moved house and a typical bloody wellington southerly started up before everything was ready for them and countless other little :nilly: seasons. I am almost convinced a nuclear explosion would not harm them. If another one dies have a real close look at it. Like Ryan mentioned look at the fins, body or anything that looks out of place. Check water parameters. 20% change isn't much but you never know what is in that clear blue water. Bloat is an option but that is pretty easy to notice. Post pics if you can. Some of the guys and gals here are cichlid keeping gods and might spot something.
  11. That no one is on at 4:29am :slfg: I just can not get back to sleep!! :-?
  12. Thanks dan. Happily help you out if you ever need anything sorted out down this way
  13. Which species? I have tried the java ferns (narrow and Normal), which worked well untill the trop dubs turned up. The anubias nana and alfriza or however is spelt are doing ok, what would like to expand the plant side of things.
  14. Nice looking tank!! What is the plant?
  15. Hi, I have brought a fish on trademe, an Longfin Albino Bristlenose. Only problem is I live in wellington. Does anyone in the Auckland fish keepers live near Oratia?? if so, would they mind picking it up (I will have prepaid for the fish) and taking it to a Auckland meeting to hand over to Ryan when convenient? The TM guy was listed as Waitakere. :-? However as it is the closest main area to him, so I do understand. Cheers!!!
  16. Last time I looked I was 35
  17. Interesting. any idea of price?
  18. PICTURES!!!!!!!! !drool: !drool: !drool: !drool: !drool: !drool: !drool: !drool:
  19. Hey P44 I might actually be able to make the June meeting!!!! I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for this 'summers' D.I.Y. project. Landscaping the front. Four retaining walls (typical wellington hill side :slfg: ), paving, lawns, etc etc.
  20. Very Interesting thread. I saw some excellent Azureus breeders down here over the weekend. They looked similar to yours Firenzenz, but as it is the first time I have seen them up close and mobile, plus being a mere African novice. My observations do not matter much. Like most organism on the planet, naturalized or hybridized variations created either man-made or natural selection can easily change the appearance of a fish. We are all humans but none of us look the same. On a separate note. Thanks for suggesting where I might find some litho's firenzenz. I now have 5 juv's: 2 males, 2 females and a unknown. Most pleased
  21. when the next bunch of imports are coming in? whats on the lists?
  22. I know that it is nothing new but I have three this time. Not bad for a fully stocked up African tank. They are hiding in my anubias 'nana' and java fern. Goo the little ones :bounce:
