  2. Saw them wild 4 th first time at noosa bout a month ago. Haven't seen them at the pet shops for a while!
  3. wuckud post! only thing to ad is only breed in numbers in Auckland if kept outside in winter. japan way cold over winter! n the same for C. orientalis in china!
  4. lost in th new super council then? surprise!
  5. Heard of them way back in the day n also a couple of years ago.but haven't seen them, so don't know if true or not.
  6. na no issues .if I stopped feeding them there would be issues
  7. way too warm if its an adult. they very cold tolerant. had them still active but not feeding them in the middle of winter outside in auckland.if the waters too warm they will get stroppy, grow too fast and stop basking.herd many people say snake necks never bask. total BOLLOCKS! not basking because the waters too warm, :sage:
  8. do put in low wattage heatlamp or light bulb at one end of the tank so it can thermoregulate its temp, otherwise it will hibernate or be too warm to hibernate but too cold to feed/digest. the other dudes got a mecury vapour lamp so supplys much heat . go low wattage depending on the size of your enclosure and where you live. :sage:
  9. i had 2 adults a couple of years ago n the strangest thing happened! when they were in me monster enclosure they went mental and were chasing and dominating the adult female waterdragons aaaand even saw one take a flying leap at male waterdragon n he was close to 1m long. so i downsized them to a 3m enclosure on there own n they were calm as. note to other keepers, hatchling cunninghams will happly snack on hatchling inland, costal or water dragon tail tips, unlike bluetongues who will eat the whole lizard :sage:
  10. word on the street is theres of a colony of chopperus stupidquestionuss out there somewhere! you don't work for bio-security by any chance do you? if not maby you should apply for a position there!
  11. yea iv herd there's a few in the shops at the mo. wasn't we who got them from animates.
  12. so by deduction they cant be surviving in healthy rivers and waterways, they wouldnt stand a chance would they?so if they only surviving in fish free water, that sounds like dams, quarrys n seasonal ponds so no wonder they got chytrid cause the water quality is most proberbly crap! high in phosphates, bacteria, e-coli,nitrite e.c.t especialy if farm land is involved! :dunno:
  13. so they must be in fish free ponds ,dams, streams n quarys then? cause most native fish would smash over the spawn n young wouldnt they? not toxic untill they morph arnt they? :dunno:
  14. unless it was (discovered) by a member of the public, who may have been trying to legalise them aye? has been known to happen! so we can assume from your post theres way more than one, cause if a few have been found there must be shiploads out there aye! so they must have been released a fare while ago aye! cause there reproduction and survival in the wild cant be that fast if there anything like fire bellied newts aye!
  15. possibly not a good post then. so its gone from one newt to several, now there will be herp nutters flocking down there to collect  not this herp nutter! :slfg:
  16. so much the same behaviour as fire bellied newts then! so what's the issue again? if the issue is Chytrid Fungus fungus which is probably everywhere like most fungi and spores, then wouldn't the cause of infection be crashed immune system due to environmental toxins/pollutions? and assuming if biosecurity caught a wild specimen, doesn't that imply that there's a few out there? n doesn't that imply that they have been there for a while ? :dunno:
  17. YUP! reptile prices been driven through the roof because of this website!
