  2. second hand panel $160 ish glass $100, aluminium angle , end and top cap and profiles for glass about $250 rivets,quelosa glue about $100,liner n glues n joiner tape about $200, a cube of builders mix n much cement about $150 the sleepers I already had along with the posts.pumps around $140. that's about were I stopped counting but gota b at least $500 for misc hardware n plumbing. proberbly owes me around 100 hours labour....not divorced yet! :facepalm:
  3. cheers m. used that firestone rubber liner.20 year rated,cheaper than butyl n way easyer to join ect. home made panel,using spirals meens could jam 60 meters in there.
  4. manualy at the moment,automation is on the to do list along with compost bin heat trans.and automated lids. :digH:
  5. 75mm refrigerated panel former 2m by 2m by 1.2m deep water 1m deep.15mm toughend glass front window. beefing up the former support with posts concreted in then 6 by 2 top plate then sleepers(not in pic) liner installed,window installed slab. starting rock and root work. filters 44 gal drum for mechanical running 8000 litres. over flow filter bath with 2 bins and uv. not tropical yet.need wetsuit mask for setup,or a can of harden up! hinged heat trans in night time mode for front window insulation. heat trans in daytime mode.cooling thermostat switches on at 22 deg 2 dial switching so off for 3 mins then on for 1 min to maximise heat buildup. up and running,turts and some fish in.

  7. just pop in to king fisheries in Tauranga. assuming they,r still in business. me first job30 or so years ago. there were thousands of them American or Sydney oooor whatever species cockies living in the fishrooms. them big mongrels! a couple of inches or so.i remember switching on the lights at night and the floor was covered with them n then within a few seconds there would only b a few hundred left, n that was because they were dragging off fish that had jumped out of the tanks! :sick:

  13. lucky they destroyed them! could you imagine the destruction a 2 foot TROPICAL eel could do to our trout industry! even worse imagine how many cats,stoats,ferrits,dogs,rats,mice,possums,pigs,deer,humans,perch,koi,rudd,tench,bullheads e.c.t could choke on them!!!!! phew that was a close one.....always good to see our tax dollars working smart! :facepalm:

  15. i would do but all used up. i can talk to the guy that makes it normaly he only does large runs because the raw product is expensive and has a limited shelf life when opened. last time i got a sheet when he was doing a large run(20 sheets) it still cost me around$850 for a sheet.
  16. fomo back fill in froggie tank. ply 3by2 formers on this one. basic 3by2 framing for this one flash cement n fiberglass rockwork on this one,still timber framework n cutoff grinder n teck screws n then mortar the joins.
  17. for the big stuff i use ply n 3by2 to make simple formers,but for fishtanks i use expandable foam
  18. i call it flexi sheet. its a 2 pac polyurathane sprayed through an expensive machine into a silicone mould, same product used in the new zoo kiwi house ect, is flexible to work with so good for making your own shapes,same product i used in some of my other enclosures.
