I now think of godly as a little smiling punk fish.
  6. He thinks he is very handsome too.
  7. here's my video - about 8 mins worth First up – feeding the big fish behind the scenes – watch for the splashes and the cheeky red moki who patrols the front edge looking for snacks. Then a trip around the big fish area, the big pool with hapuku, the tunnel. At the time there were some people doing the Extreme shark diving experience – we were watching to see if anyone got eaten. Then a short trip around some of the display tanks.
  8. here is a snippet of my cat Monty being an idiot first he tries to kill the very blanket that consoles his winter woes, then he tries to stop me moving his possum tail, even though he was only going to sleep at the time....

  10. I put fine gravel on top of peat and it stayed under mostly. Sand should also be ok but eventually it will sink below the bigger particles. you might need to turn off the filtration over night and just let it settle and you can gently siphon the layer of fine silt off later.
  11. :spop: your cat might learn its lesson if you put it in when the water is there :gigl:
  12. You should take one to Kelly Tarlton's, they were short staffed when we visited today, this sort of thing could save them a heap of time. Plus they are owned by a company that has 20 something aquariums.
  13. no I don't sorry as of today I have no more of them anyway, my last 3 went to a new home
  14. More of us might have been able to make it had we known it was going to be an all day booze-up
  15. So today's news is that I've moved 11 fry into the house planted tank with their 2 older siblings. There were 6 or 7 left out of the original 8 and some of the other small ones had some fatties so I thought I'd set them all free in the display tank. There are about 6 smaller fry left. Will be moving house in a couple of weeks so will catch some more wrigglers to grow out after that. My biggest kille is now quite bossy, she shunts anyone else around except the gourami so I've taken her out of the minifish tank and put her in the garage for some time out. The other 2 killies are doing ok, will probably come out a bit more now that Bossy has gone.
  16. save me a cupcake and tell Adrienne to check her PMs

    Limpets

I had a few light grey ones about same size in one of my tropical tanks. They come and go it seems and don't appear to do any harm. If you squash them on the side the fish can pick over the innards or you can count them as free pets. My tank water doesn't seem to agree with snails too much so they never get out of hand.
  20. When you icki stick a fish it usually thrusts it's lower jaw forward and opens it's mouth like it's gasping for air (of course it isn't really doing that). I think it's some kind of reflex that happens when their brain or heart stops.
