  1. Ever seen this? I noticed one of my ember tetras was swollen and seemingly a bit aggravated, also has taken a cloudy appearance compared to his clear mates.

  6. I have one but not with other gourami, only with minifish. He's pretty active and not aggressive. I also heard they are prone to sickness but here's hoping mine stays good.
  7. My english Grandad was in WW2 fighting against my italian Grandad (not literally) and then of course italian Grandad had to change sides.
  8. it could be the corydora, but not if it's a him :dnc1:
  9. tank looks beautiful, don't change it except maybe to take out the hairgrass :gigl: your sick fish will eat when he feels ready to, though it's sad to see them not eating &c:ry
  10. it's supposed to be about once a week as they are so high in fat. But they do love them
  11. nope, he's kiwi born and bred :dnc1: We picked Tetley's because it was English ale that we could buy by the tin rather than 6 at a time, we don't drink much. I found it rather like cold tea, easy to drink but not especially tasty.
  12. do we win some of your baking? in the flesh, couriered to our homes, not just a picture of something you once ate :spop:

  14. Actually I didn't mind them and ate my portion. I'm sure they could be made to be quite tasty though. Dinner cat always likes to remind us he is around Dinner cat likes cream
  15. To celebrate we are having toad in the hole with gravy and mushy peas and some Tetley's ale to wash it down. Bakewell tart for pud. I will probably eat a spoon of mushy peas to please my husband but otherwise I feel a bit  about them.

  17. This is the guy I saw. This photo was taken in 2009 at 20 months old when he was 9 or 10 kg, he's now even bigger. Apparently the biggest in NZ  It's not an illusion that his head appears as big as the owner's. He really is huge, like a child.
  18. I went to the Auckland Cat Club cat show yesterday, there were some amazing kitties there. I got to see a 10-11kg Maine Coone who was about as big as a 4 year old child. Such a big beast! It was cute overload :nilly:

    The What's Up? thread.

All the plants would come back with a haircut probably :sml2:
  20. did you stir up the substrate? could also be cloudy from fiddling with the filter, all the stuff that isn't on the inside of it when you turn off the suction gets spat back out again when you start it up again. what sort of filter is it and how big is the tank?
  21. 22 is fine for most plants and many fish. Many heaters don't heat to the temperature you set it to so I just adjust it according to what temperature the water actually is. I have tried Eheim, Aqua One and Jebo, they all seem pretty much the same. The only one that burnt out was the Eheim/Jager which is supposed to be best one.
  22. Tank in the middle of the shelf (Tank 2) now has a sponge & perspex divider like the newest tank (Tank 3). There is a load of new moss courtesy of Squirt Today I moved the 8 biggest fry from Tank 3 into a section of Tank 2, and then sucked up some mulm from the adult side of Tank 3 and plopped that over the divider so any eggs or hatchlings can be away from their parent's chomping teeth.
