I went into a bit of a panic when I found out but I think I'm used to the idea now. Pretty angry but what can you do. I don't worry about the packing or the moving, I worry that I won't be able to find a place as good as this place. It isn't perfect but while living here we managed to maximise the space in such a way that we really got a lot out of the little place. And of course whenever you move, if you want at least the same conditions, the average rent has almost always gone up a bit. I wrote a list of things to look forward to, not least of all is a decent washing line and a catdoor for Monty. I'd love to go out rural but I don't know if I could stomach the travelling distance to work.

that's what you get for eating fishfood...... in other news, for dinner tonight I'm doing a Jamie Oliver trick of roasting lamb straight on the oven rack so it drips into the vegetables below. It makes for quite a smokey smelling kitchen so I really hope it tastes good. I rubbed it with lime juice (no lemon available), rosemary, oil, salt and pepper. !drool:
  9. here's another crazy cat with a vacuum cleaner this time it's a much more sucky motor :lar:
  10. The other thing you could do if you don't want him in the tank is to keep him in the container but add plants and make sure he's not directly under the light, or cover the top with a cloth.
  11. can Brutus go red like that or is it a trick of the lighting?
  12. If it was me, and I was sure he couldn't swim behind something and get stuck if dead, I'd put him back in the tank and let him live his last days in his home. But depends on the situation and what his tank mates are. Some weak fish get attacked by the others and that's not very nice for you or the fish.

    were you having a baby?
  14. I can't waste worms! Si_sphinx's worms look good but I think Auckland would be too warm now since mine have only done well in the fridge. I wouldn't get away with keeping them in the wardrobe, fridge is bad enough but I have a shelf to myself near the bottom so they don't get near the food.
  15. yes but how do you get the worms out to move them? other than accidentally, like I have done
  16. last call pleeeeeeeeeeeaseeeeeeeee
  17. yep that spreader tool is on the list for when we get the brake pads thanks :gpo2:
  18. here is a simple answer to all the cat hair problems in life: just vacuum them directly from the cat's body what a helpful little beast
