  1. Don't give up, change something like less lettuce or milk and get some more bugs. One of my batches died after a really hot day, after which I moved them to part shade. They then ate lots of the really green algae in the bottom and it didn't regrow but now there is a population of brown algae stuff that they eat anyway and that doesn't seem to go away. I think it takes a little while to get the bugs in the right spot with the right conditions.

    New tank

Very cool indeed, I really like that one. Gives me a good idea about how I could use gravel in a sand tank without needing any dividers.
  3. I have a couple of glass thermometers and they are not as accurate as the digital temperature gauge I had, often out by a couple of degrees. I always presumed the expensive digital one was correct. Have never tried the aquarium digital thermometers however.
  4. I think the moral of that story is that if you are going to be dishonest, you shouldn't blab about it to your mates. Or get mates who know how to keep a secret perhaps.

    Shellie tank

If we could control nature fishkeeping would not be as wonder-full as it is. I'm sorry you lost your fish though P44
  6. My killies loved microworms as small as they were. I would put a blob in the tank and the faster ones would zap up and gobble a mouthful at once.

    cory and others

been scratching my chin - if I get dither fish won't they nip in and get the live food first? that was my problem with peppered cory and cardinal tetra - the cory didn't get a look in.
  8. they won't be thinking it's cool when they end up as Daphnia Fritters  what's the milk for?
  9. Ondine (not my name either)
