    piranhas

Please ask because I'd like to know too. I didn't realise until you mentioned it that they were gone when we went in June. Maybe since they got bought by an international conglomerate they had to stock pleasant seeming fish only :dunno:
  2. She laid some on the tank glass near the filter, some straight on the bottom of the tank, some on a leaf up the side. Since they seem to be acting predictably I will see if I can put a big leaf in there for next time. Would be cool to get some fry this time.
  3. Every year I've joined a club it was after the cutoff date and I received my card a week or 2 later.
  4. The cories must have heard me typing about them last night. Today I came home from work early and found them shimmering about spawning. I saved about 10 eggs, not sure if they have plans for more. I've put the eggs in a net over a bubble stone in the next compartment so I can keep an eye on them. It's only the 2nd or 3rd time I've seen them breed.
  5. Boring update: Moved house about a month ago now. Current breeding progamme: Same pair of CPDs - have done 2 mulm saves since moving and so far no fry. Also have had a pair of mature peppered cories in a breeding tank fattening them up. They seem to enjoy that life, looks like they could eat and eat if I let them.
  6. I have about 20 fry growing out at present, just wondering if anyone else has managed to hatch some?
  7. night at the zoo? should be good for plenty of drunken pooh and farting jokes
  8. my husband thought that was you doing the croaking. What was the comment you made at nearly 12 mins?
  9. some sponge of filter wool might also work
  10. I have different filters to you and have similar problems. One is an expensive Marina hang on back and the top cover continually jiggers so I've removed it. Sticking it down with blue tac didn't silence it. It also vibrated against the glass where it hung over which has largely been shut up by putting a flannel between the glass and the filter. I also have an internal Eheim that makes too much noise but again I think it's a rattle in the outer casing somewhere. I don't hold much hope of these moving parts becoming silent. In short, unless someone knows exactly what is wrong, you've probably done everything you can do.+ :fshi:
  11. :iag: but not anymore, as soon as the vows were said, farting began

    The What's Up? thread.

this one was odd for me. Usually I cut the side of my thumb or forefinger. Once I stabbed myself in the fleshy part of palm/thumb muscle with secateurs
  15. that's the photo taken after you got caught in your grandma's nightie

in other news, I hacked my finger. I was chopping with a sharp knife and shaved a slice off the top of my middle finger nail through and about a 5mm circle off the top of the skin underneath. A bit like when you skin your knuckle or grate your finger, as I have done before. It hurt and it bled. &c:ry
  17. they are small but good you could also eat 2!
  18. Tonight for pudding we had the new Aunt Betty's Salted Caramel saucy centres pud. As an avid connisseur of ABs puddings, I was interested in this one... and not a bit disappointed. The pudding is more cakey than the usual saucy puds, and the caramel inside is thick and tasty. It doesn't seem salty-salty, it just isn't very sweet like their other sauces. You could pour custard or cream over if you like, or the cake is moist enough to have it without. I haven't tried the chocolate one yet but it would be hard to beat the yummy caramel in this one. YUMBO :bounce: !drool:
