All my fish have been washed out over lighter substrate. It might not be so good to paint one of the sides unless it's one you don't plan to look through. Since I covered 3 sides of my cory tank with polystyrene I have found it very frustrating that I can only see in the front and through the top. :an!gry :lol: Once you get some decent coverage with the twisted val against the sides that will probably be enough. Just a thought anyway, I like to snoop on my fish.

I met Hovmoller's dog on the weekend and he is such a sweet and friendly little dog, a real smooch. I am renting and not allowed a dog unfortunately :-? .

Crypts are fussy, don't like their toes being stepped on. I think they can do it if you change the lighting too. Mine do it if I disturb the substrate to move them and usually anywhere from days after planting to a month after planting while they adjust to a new setting. Sometimes just a leaf will disappear, this is a big melt for me though. I have just sucked all the debris up and it's quite naked &c:ry . I didn't think a tiny vac would do it, maybe I should plant them even deeper? Oh well. Will send you the pics Simon, you can make a collage of melts.... or maybe we can call it Crypt Renaissance

So here I was thinking what this site is missing are some good photos of what not to do to your crypts. Some people might not know what crypt melt looks like, so here it is. This is what happened after a gentle gravel vac on Sunday. They are doing a little self-spring cleaning.... :facepalm: looks like naked tank for me for a few weeks. :roll: I did actually keep some bigger photos in case anyone wants to put them in a database somewhere.

I think I had it on a driftwood I had that once eventually turned to slime and I chucked it, but only time will tell whether yours is going to stay or go or develop into something else. You will just have to keep an eye on the tank, make sure everyone looks happy, that the water doesn't start to stink, and that it still looks pretty. You could also try boiling the wood and see if that kills whatever it is if you don't like it. The wood I had it on was found at the sea though, wasn't a bought bogwood like yours.

I was top of the class in french but since then all I get to do is watch french movies. I read the subtitles and listen to the dialogue and am forever saying 'hey that's not what he said!' :slfg: But really I can just string some basic stuff together, I am nowhere near fluent.

I thought those fish had more growing to do so have a piece of chocolate and don't be sad &c:ry . At least you found some in the end, and that was the second lot we knew about in a month or so.
