If I remember rightly, I last went to a VTNZ some years ago and they failed the car on having only 1 bulb to light up the rear license plate - but there was only 1 designed for the car, it wasn't that the 2nd bulb was blown, there wasn't one.
  4. I've never seen velvet in person (except at Spotlight ) .

was it a VTNZ type place? I always avoid those places as I think they are overly picky at times. Regardless of the law there are still a number of grey areas and some will just not use their discretion.
  6. Sorry Fishybusiness not yet, am waiting for them to cover the background so I can get rid of the ambulia. For me 'all over' means 3 baby plants :slfg:
  7. was it a CPD or your fighter girl that died today? the CPDs are all not that far off each other in age and could be dying of natural causes too perhaps? I've always been told that unless you can spot something definite it's very hard to treat correctly so maybe you could just do some big WC and observe? or move the plants out and then treat again Jenniferrrr where are you got any thoughts?
  8. +1 for twisted val - mine twisted val took a number of months to settle in but now it's putting out runners all over
  9. Mr Skinny 2 is on his last legs/fins now, I imagine he will pass away in a day or 2. Definitely don't anyone buy thin dwarf chain loaches! Has been a learning experience for me, at least now I know what to look for. The remaining 5 loaches are all chubby so hopefully all good now.
  10. Found the mega sized CPD died today - it had a very red under-belly and around the anus area - no camera batteries to show you though. Whatever it is I haven't seen a dead fish like that before. Did the others that died look like that too? I've put it in the freezer in case you want to have a look
  11. crypts, though am not sure much that grows at low light is considered fast growing compared to say, plants on Co2.
  12. Hovmoller, I would have to say that these are my 2 favourite threads of late - off topic but hilarious : http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=54768 http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=54774
  13. the sound of someone else doing the dishes :happy1:
  14. if you want some contrast you could try a dark mahogany or a taupe, or a shade that is in the fabric or decorations in the room - not as in your face as white.
  15. I got through the first half and then went to bed. It was a more interesting game than NZ vs Tonga I thought, faster and more aggressive. Those guys were out for blood compared to NZ and Tonga who seemed to be going through the motions against people they were fond of and didn't want to offend by winning too much haha. I think that's it for me and rugby now, I'm all rugbied out. I don't enjoy the start-stop roll around on the ground stuff, seems to get in the way of the game. I prefer football as a sport to watch. :digH:
