cool I am going to go next week
  3. I know I am impatient... but these fish breed constantly a few eggs a day as I far as I know - I think I would have seen at least one fry if they were surviving under there. Will see what happens next anyway
  4. Tank 2 - all stones removed, all fish still alive, no fry. Fish now in breeding box with lots of moss for a few days and then I will move them out and see if any fry emerge.

was that KK Malaysian at the corner of Greenlane and Manukau Rd? If so tell me all about it, I am planning to go there for lunch soon. Isn't Sherlock the coolest little pooch?
  6. Tank 1 - ex CPD So, some days on from the poisoning debacle I've had a test fish in there for a few days and it's behaving normally. The snails seem to be finally normal again too, they are moving about and eating. Test fish is a large female fighter so she is pooping enough to help the filter get back on it's feet if it wasn't functioning. There is a little carbon in the filter as well that I will take out in a week or so before putting fish in. Tank 2 - erythromicron Still no fry appearing from here, I would have thought they would have emerged by now if any were there hiding in the rocks. At the moment I am assuming the stones method was also unsuccesful and over my 3 week holiday I will have a poke around in there and see if any turn up.
  7. I saw Opie's neon tetras on the weekend and they were the fattest biggest I'd ever seen. I thought they were cardinals till I realised they were only half red. I would now try a few tetra in a matured tank and see how they fared, rather than always go for cardinals. These were probably double the size of the ones you get in the shops, I didn't realise it was possible.

If it becomes or has become a legal issue what happens with Squirt should not be discussed on here and he and his family should be advised by a lawyer and/or comply with the requests of MAF. I believe that a serious legal issue is not going to have anything to do with the forum and the FNZAS because a) he was never encouraged to purchase them so it does not reflect on any reputation, and b) it has become a private legal matter. By all means privately discuss with a senior member as Liam suggests if it makes Squirt feel better but I do not believe it's necessary or particularly anyone else's business now.
  9. I like Hemlock's Crabby lie :sml2:

    Hello!

    Welcome FishyNoob 8)
  11. In the past we have taken leaves or twigs that the nest was attached to, (after dark of course, when you can hear them snoring) chop off the bit it's attached to, and put the whole thing in a plastic bag and then in the freezer. After a few days I put the whole thing in the outside bin and that was that.
  12. I'm glad the rest of you can tell the difference between all the wood in a box arrangements because I sure can't :sml2:

Aquaworld has heaps eh. Did you take kids to Kelly Tarltons or was it just a grown ups trip?
  14. oh that is a good one Anthony Stuart :rotf: :rotf: you know, this tool is good for all sorts of things, not just names.
  15. I have read up on Chinchillas and they look like a lot of work if you want to do more than just watch them sleep in a cage. There are people who have exercise rooms for them and they clamber about all over the place looking furry and cute. Such plush fur though, and the babies are so cute
  16. I suggest that is your just desserts for 'cleaning' the garden on Chinese New Years Day
  17. what on earth did you do to it to make it wave its back legs about so much? looks like Bug Yoga :sml2:
