  8. Thats what yours is. Just not the same quality, that is all. Frenchy
  9. Hmm, mine get spirulina flake with every fed. Around that they get some spectrum pellets, frozen mysis shrimp & bigger guys get the odd HBH African cichlid pellet. Thats it really. The odd algae wafer too. Frenchy
  10. Yep, it's a parrot cichlid. Well thats the common name here. Hypsophrys nicaraguensis Frenchy
  11. Metro should kill worms too, as it knocks parasites on the head too. The problem is medication sometimes works sometimes dosen't. If the cobalt is too far gone as in damage to internals, not much as you can do. The fact he isn't to fertile leads me that way too. Frenchy
  12. :-? Oh well, maybe he just an anger bugger, humans get red faced, fronnie gone all dark Frenchy
  13. The fronnies changing colour could very well be the difference in water going in. Unless its just from you having your arm, gravel vac, etc in the tank spooking them a bit. {cichfanatic} Be very careful with water changes. Cichlids from Lake Tangy can be very fickle to changes in water. As for the dark fronnie, are you sure it isn't getting harassed? As said earlier, dark fronnies like that, can mean stress. For it to be one only too & a fronnie. Leads me to being picked on. Also by the way it is sitting in the back of the pot & high up, seems like it is trying to stay out of others way. Frenchy
  14. Electric Blues do not have spots. Someone over there needs a wooden spoon. If they look like Electric Blues, then they would of been crossed with lithobates more than likely. Has happened over here too. The problem is also in some cases. People look at the fish & go they look more like these & call them that. It's a problem with cichlids world wide. It's either a poor specimen, cross breed.... Also Alan, as Mekhaela said. Frenchy
  15. Go for ones that have those products further down the list of ingredients. Generally its a sign of % of ingredient in product. Or stick to the better named brands. Frenchy
  16. I would like to see a better pic too. as in more side on. I don't like to comment as its hit & miss. Frenchy
  17. No fish should be fed warm blooded animal products Frenchy
  18. I used to feed mine, cichlid pellets{sinking}, frozen mysis shrimps, cichlid & spirulina flake when they are smaller. Live freshwater shrimps.. Frenchy
  19. Its not an ahli. A better pic would be better. They are not in NZ too. Where do people get that idea from. Ahli are very expensive & very rare. They are very hard to get of in USA let alone NZ or Aussie. I know the wholesalers in asia sell them as ahli, but the are wrong. A note for moderators too. If anyone here sells any electric blues as such delete please. It is selling an uncorrectly named fish. Causes confusion as people sell some as fryeri. Frenchy
  20. I think you would of noticed at wetpetz, that the names of the fish, price.. wouldn't of been on the tanks with whitespot. You should see the morning routine they go through just on fish health... Frenchy
  21. The one in the pic would be nuked{colour fed} Foods with a very high asthaxitan content. Frenchy
  22. As Sharn said.... Most fish here are quarentined for 2 weeks before they hit the shops. The problem is fish can carry diseases without showing symptons. With some diseases may be up to 6 weeks. The problem with that is sometimes the fish dosen't look sick, & you also have to check every fish in the shop for that to work. Most shops have systems, or use a few nets & don't use an iodine drip, same for gravel vacs.....transfer of diseases in shops is very high. Frenchy
  23. With African Cichlids, ph can have an influence on some species too. Frenchy
