i thought i would check my policy out with AMI and they said that if anything happens when cleaning it or the tank is bumped etc the tank and all other affected items would be covered - however if the tank just explodes like what happened to jim r then the tank itself wouldnt be covered but everything else ie carpet and everything affected by the water would be - so i guess thats confirmation that if the tank explodes by an act of god itself it was bumped or something fell on it not that im suggesting or condone insurance fraud

i heard there was a shop on the kapiti coast that sells the darker substrate - i havent seen any in wellington pet shops - i also tried placemakers where i got my white silica sand from but all they had was the grey stuff thats not as fine as silica - and i also called the horokiwi quarry but they didnt have any black silica... im going up the coast this weekend - i might do a hunt around the LPS / LFS's up there and see if i can find any

i did wonder about that - the top one is a little bit aggressive toward the gold so wasnt sure if maybe they were boys and the middle a girl

holy heck - thats a lot of mouths to feed what does tracey do to those fish as long as i leave these little fullas in the nursery tank they should be fine - i have some indian fern for cover from the angels that are in there - my other swordy mum is going to drop soon too - i think i need another tank

I got a wagtail from tracytrout about 3 weeks ago and she was looking pretty big then - she still hadnt dropped the fry today so i moved her to my nursery tank that might have been a bit warmer - she was in there about 30 mins and then bang out came 66 babies... is that a lot ? my other females have only dropped about 20 or so.

the age of the hardware wont make a difference - however they may get you to disconnect the router and do the speedtest from a pc directly connected to the adsl modem - might be worth while doing that before you call them so that you can say that you have tried that as well.

is it ok to use pots that have had plants in previously ? they were probably last used about about a year ago for a plant but since then they have been sitting in the shed - i have cleaned them up with hot water and a scrubbing brush.. ive knocked the bottom out of them and sanded down the rough edges already but thought i should confirm if they would be ok since they have been used before. cheers

They are about 5-6 cm long not including the tail - if my wife has it her way until July next year - but if i have it my way and i get a stand built quick enough just a couple of months i dont like to see them getting picked on edit: Spelling

they are getting picked on by my other 2 angels that have paired up - i moved the 2 that paired up to another tank but now these are getting picked on by my severums so until i get my new tank up and running in july next year (long story) i kinda need to rehome them for a little while. does anyone in welly have room for a couple of angels that need a bit of tlc ? didnt think so - thanks for the confirmation - what would you say is the best LPS to get fish from in welly - animates are ok but the prices are strange - like $15 for a green severum from the lower hutt store and $25 from the one in kaiwharawhara for the same sized fish

i went to the LFS today and said - whats this fish to the young chap that served me - he said it could be an electric yellow or a dem - now im no expert but considering there with other electric yellows and dems in the tank i knew it wasnt them - but it cracked me up that he said is just hasnt colored up yet !!! ... so what is this little guy ?

bugger - there i was hoping i had "special" fish - nevermind - normal angels or not i quite like them - i just wish they would hurry up and spawn again.

so what type of angels do you think these were phoenix44 ?

i nuke mine for about 30 seconds in the microwave then attach it to a log cause it still floats around a bit
