kind of both - my swordtails had babies and had to put them somewhere the other fish wouldnt eat them - i tried a breeding net but the babies were being sucked through it by my biggest sev, greedy bugger he is... i think i will probably keep the babies and maybe move the baby tank to my daughters room when shes a bit older yep lawn type look is awesome.... the 3ft tank is 40cm high - so not overly big would the light i have cover it - its very bright - the white sand shows up really nice so if i could get the lawn type look that would be sweet - i also like the looked of your algae covered rocks i guess i should advise i have a pet hate of algae on glass etc

correct about the 120cm - i need to redesign it - just not with live plants - i checked out mystics tanks recently and loved the look of her tanks....funny that i came home with 2 chocolate cichlids when i was just going for a looksee the light is a ff15 450mm tube - i assume t5 ? the fish 1x bristlenose, 6x golden barbs, 3x angels, 3x golden tiger barbs,3x tiger barbs, 6x swordtails (soon to be about 80 more swords + 2x bristlenose + 1x GAE if i shutdown my baby tank) plants - small java fern and 2 of those big leafed things (surphew did tell me what they were but i have a really crap memory) filter - fluval 204 the look - i love the look of this but how much work are they http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/images/uploads/09.10.amano.jpg you know that giving me options just makes it harder !!!

do you work at animates or wet pets ?

i see you guys talking about fertballs and stuff and i think - what are they on about i know nothing about plants - havent really been able to get into them since every time i have tried my sevs either rip them out of the substrate or eat the things - now i have 2 big tanks and the sevs are seperated i can look at a planted tank some more now. so would you remove the airstone completely or turn it down so there is only a little bit of air coming out... there are so many planted tanks that i have seen on the web but not sure what suit

i think someone else here had a similar issue - if its what im thinking of they used an airstone or crushed shells to stabalize the ph

Nah I'm in IT - we are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to where I work - I have a meeting with my manager, our local HR lady, and a support person of my chosing tomorrow. my sister in law reckons what they are doing sucks and sounds like she may lay into them tomorrow - could be some fireworks they wont have seen coming....shes a manager and knows all about this sort of rubbish so will be interesting....

yeah i know i guess the initial shock of the manager saying - we are having a meeting and im not going to tell you anything makes me over paranoid and come to the worse possible conclusions - in saying that if its not a bad outcome tomorrow i will be relieved but then will start looking for a new job anyway - maybe somewhere that appreciates the employees - that may be a hard task

ok so to take my mind of the plebs at work i would like your ideas on how i can get these tanks looking awesome 4ft 200L tank - cant be planted cause the sevs dont like plants - i tried java fern and something else that Surphew gave me which was meant to be sour but the fish decided to nibble them anyways. im sort of leaning towards some brownish rocks from the beach for this tank as i have chocolate colored east coast sand as the substrate 3ft 128L tank - could be planted but i know nothing about plants and where to start so i need some hand holding the java fern and the other as above are in this tank - and as you can see it looks a bit silly all ideas are welcomed and appreciated.

thanks supasi i guess like you and others have said everything happens for a reason and sometimes its the best thing that can happen - i will start a new topic about my 4 footer i got from lmsmith to get some ideas on how to get it looking top notch - im so useless when it comes to aquascaping :oops: - that should keep my mind off blimming work :evil:

its just strange they created the job to keep me round - ive been there for almost 9 years - maybe it is time i left - who knows

im not in a union - dont even know if there is one for IT peeps - im taking my sister in law whos been made redundant in the past and is a manager now - she will stand up for me

ive had issues with my manager recently - where hes been bullying me - so i went to HR to get that sorted out - the HR lady said its got nothing to do with that however its a huge coincedence that this all happened within the last 2 weeks and now im being told of this meeting today - ive not done anything "wrong" in recent days as far as im aware - noone has said anything to make me think ive done anything wrong so now i have no idea. ive just checked my emails and found this was meeting request with this in it "Discussion re potential changes that will impact your role" but the wording makes me feel like its bad - and just before "bleepin" christmas too

yeah im thinking the same thing - from what i hear things are quiet with the different areas of the company but i work in IT and I'm pretty busy most of the time so really i dont know how they can justify a redundancy - i dont think a promotion is up for grabs - i only moved into this role that my manager and the main IT manager created to keep me around about 2 years ago so again its just plain old weird. on a side not my meeting with the "bleep bleep bleep" is not till the afternoon and our HR person said to stay at home till the meeting then just go to that. makes me feel even worse that they dont really care or something - if there was nothing to worry about i wish they would have just said "everythings cool with your job we just need to change your role" or something i would have been happy with.... now i want to format 160 servers and make the place come to a screaming halt...

if your manager who works in another city calls you up and says that hes flying down tomorrow for a meeting with yours truley, an HR person, to discuss changes that affect your role, and you were also told that you could have a representative in the meeting would you assume that you are being made redundant ? ive had no warnings etc that would make me think im being fired but what are your thoughts on this ? im so "bleeped" off i wanna slam my managers head into a brick wall. i asked my manager what the meeting was about and he said that he cant discuss it - so i went to the HR person and she also told me i cant discuss it.....
