when i get a girl the will breed in a bare bottom tank. i JUST want to know what he will do when his nest is broken... THATS ALL I WANT TO KNOW. someone please tell me. will he still eat etc. wont get depressed??

bedazzled, i lowered the water level coz i had it too high and current was too strong. now its better.but still too strong for him

the filter goes, i turn it on for most of the day. its not the filter im concerned with my question is about my fighting fish..how will he be when his nest is destroyed?? he is a little fish, my tank is only 22L so its a small one and he has lots of trouble swimming through the current. please stop with filter talk. what will my boy do when his nest is busted up?

coz he hates it, i have an aqua one tank. the filter is on top of the tank adn the water is returned via the top, the water come into the tank in about 10 streams and my fighter is a young boy and not huge. he hates the current it creates and HIDES at the back of the tank. and wont come forward for food. i turn it on twice a day for a couple of hours. what i want to know is how upset will he get when his nest is destroyed. will he just make another?? and when i get a girl and put him into the BREEDING tank will he blow bubbles in there or not? or will i have to leave him in it for a week or so to get used to it? thanks

my male fighter built his first bubble nest ove night. but hes made it in his planted aquarium under a plant leaf. i need to turn on the filter, will he be totally upset by his nest being destroyed?? when i put in his GF can i just put something to cover the gravel so he can get the eggs?? thanks

what do you class as a beginner?? someone who has not had reptiles before? ive had reptiles and worked with them.

i went to my step dads/mothers house and the turtle looks SO SO very skinny. i fed her , step brother said dont feed her its a waste of time, she just vomits it back up. or wont at all . i cleaned her out and nearly vomited myself at the smell/texture of the water. took ages to get her right. sadly i had to sell her b4 xmas as kids were not interested and i jsut didnt have the time. i was wanting to make an outdoor enclosure and never got to it. so sold her to a lady with a MASSIVE tank and basking area. i hope ur turtle comes right. if its eating now and moving thats good. i was told that when my turtle snapped at the food, without me having to open its mouth and throw food in, that it was on the mend. goodluck. its moving so thats a good sign too.

i had a turtle that was vomiting and not eating for about 1-2 months at least . my stepdad had her, water filthy brown and green. i took her, had IM antibiotics every day for a week. and had to hand feed coz she wouldnt eat due to being in filthy water. got her better. goodluck

how do i put on a photo of my fish??

when frogs mature they will try and mate with the fish and possibly drown them as they dont let go quickly. and the frogs willl eat fish eggs.

no not yet, ive got a small 22L tropical freshwater tank with a male fighter and two bristlenoses. waiting for some female fighters. i would love a marine tank and have some schooling fish and some "nemos". but the whole sump idea sound too damn hard. i have a aqua one tank for my tropical and it apparently can be used for saltwater too but someone told me the tank is crap and cant do saltwater. all the LARGE tanks in local fish shop all have ontop filters which are meant to be used for marine. im not sure about doing a large saltwater or freshwater tank.

thanks i will do that when i finally get a few female fighters all i have is one male and two baby bristle noses who i doubt would be interested.

i love the photos of the tanks with glosso (sp?) and the grass carpets. wondering can someone have Plecos and have those?? looks amazing i would love a tank planted out like that. amazing. how do you use Co2? seems hard to me. ive grown plants without co2 but the results from using it are wicked. what breeds of fish "School"? thanks heaps dominique

as subject says... i want some female fighting fish, dont mind what tail type, tho would like CT male and females at some stage. if you have any young ones 4-6months as my males is only little and young i dont want an older female picking on him. thanks PM if you have any dominique

i just put two baby bristle nose catfish in with my male betta, and he chased them round the tank now i can see one hiding,. but dunno bout number two. daughter says he killed it. but i dunno, he is a small fighter himself. doing a water change tomorrow. so hopefully i find them both alive and well. jsut wanted them to clean the tank.

tank size unknown yet. but i know i want a pleco and they grow to about 20cm dont they. and i want a couple of silver sharks. and i think a red tailed shark or is that a black tailed shark ( i forget). not sure what else i want yet.

how do i grow mozzies?? would fighting fish like the larvae?

where do i find a list of what tropical fish are compatiable with each other. yes i know dont put big ones with small ones etc. but i want a more specific list. is there a website somewhere?? im looking at getting a BIG tank and having fish that grow big like Pleco and silver sharks etc. can someone help me... thanks heaps dominique

hello everyone, ive got ONE male fighter fish. he is totally adorable, hes a baby. about 4-6months old. and is blue with a red stripe on his lower fins. oh he is handsome. im so glad that the fish shop got in a blue one. my son was asking for a blue one. now i just need to get him a couple of baby girlfriends. im also getting a baby bristlenose to eat food that drops to the ground. ill post a picture when i get one. he is so adorable. my youngest has named him "blue bubbles" coz he watched him breath and saw the bubble come out his gills. giggled about that. awwwww fishy is cute from dominique

its not normal. its a sign they were taken off the mum too early before they had been weaned proberly. the standards now state that kittens must be 8 weeks minimum before rehoming. why do you think that MOST breeders wont rehome earlier than 12 weeks. my cat had kittens who are now 12 weeks old and ready to rehome. mum weaned them 1 1/2 weeks ago and they are now super friendly. i hope ur kittens grow out of it. dont allow them to do it to you, they need boundaries too. one of my kittens is a boy and if we were to keep him he wouldnt get fixed, not coz im irresponsible. but i like the "male" look, he is bulking up and looking like a real tom. why make him look and act like a kitten again. but hubby said we are keeping a girl kitten. goodluck with ur kittens. unless the mother cat died and there was no foster mum i would not rehome a 3 week old kitten. they take constant hand feeding.

how much does one of these cost? i would love one.

i didnt realise there were any tortoises in NZ, id love a baby one. what type do you have?
