    Algae Lawn?

Syringes can be purchased from the chemist, easy as, because they have them with the kids medicines, you can also get the droppers. B
  2. Hi jane, 1. I would out an ad up in the private trade and exchange, as you will probably get the guppies cheaper, and could quite possibly get nicer looking ones. Also you may be able to get a pic of them and then you can see before you buy. 2. I keep guppies in a ratio of 1 male to 3 females as this stops the females getting harrassed to much, and consequently getting sick and stressed. Hope This Helps B
  3. I can't understand why people don't use them more, as I seem to hear of a lot of people who have problems with the fluvals and I have had no problems with the jebo, and I was the same caryl, I had to keep checking it was running as I couldn't tell. B

    Algae Lawn?

I have always loved that sort of look as I feel it gives a more natural look, and this is the bit that sounds strange, I have never been able to grow it well enought o get it looking anything other than messy. B
  5. Good move caryl, although I have not used a fluval or eheim and therefore have no peronal experiance, I am running a jebo 819 and it does a brilliant job, and I paid a quarter of the price for it compared to the other two brands. I also agree with the 2 filter theory and with that being the case you could get 2 of the Jebo 815's instead. I will be purchasing a second 819 and also a 815 when the $$ allow  B
  6. I have the 819 running on my 180litre tan, and yes it sounds overkill but I bought larger so I had the ability to upgrade the tank size and still be able to use the same filter. I purchased mine for a little bit more than you have stated but welington seems to more expensive for some reason. Also I had a mate who was running the 815?? on a 3foot turtle tank with no problems, so I reackon if it handles the turtles it will be fine on fish tanks. B
  7. I have fixed to 2foots and a 3 foot with this method, but should be fairly std on larger tanks as well. B
  8. I would hold off glueing it to the bottom on the outside of the tank as it will cause the tank to sit unevenly, and may cause more probs. MY OPINION I would just silicone a peice of 6mm in the bottom and then seal round the outside of the peice you have put in. B
  9. HI Kazz, Time is the best treatment, my tanks go cloudy when I fill them, or when I do a water cahnge, it will clear over time. B
  10. How about some pics shae, let us know how it's going B

  13. do you have many snails in the tank, if it looks clearish, I would be more inclined to say snails eggs. Can you see little white dots in the clear stuff on the leaves, I have heaps and can't seem to get rid of em, but no algae either B
