I have never seen any other turtles in nz except for rederade ones and when I have asked in pet shops they know nothing about turtles and only have a few redeared ones in a tank an that's it,,

Hi, any of you that have any idea of how to build a turtle rock for a heavy turtle. She weighs a bit too much for one of those floating things. At present I have a large plastic container with a flat rock on top of it and small rocks built like a stair case to get up. I have hidden the internal filter in the plastic container so she can't reach it and play with it. The plastic container has heaps of holes in it so the water can circulate. It is a pain to take all out when cleaning the tank and I have been thinking of building something more permanent just to lift in and out. It has to be material that looks natural and it is to be a platform with a slope and legs to keep it standing up.Like a barstool with sloope so she can crawl/swim up. Can I find schist somewhere? (spelling of schist?) build a permanent staircase and use glas glue. If I can glas glue it together then I do not need the staircase to go all the way to the bottom of the tank and it can just hang from the sun rock top. Any ideas??

I used to have yellow bellied ones, had to leave them behind when I moved here, have not found them here but I don't know that much people here to ask. Now I have a red eared one, they seem to be a bit more agressive or just less social than the yellow bellied ones.

Hi, I have been looking for eheim filters here in Nz, have not been here that long,a few years, found the aquaball that I have not seen before. Did do some searches in my old home country to see what they think of it: new product that did not do the work and the zoo shops don't even bring it in any more! Then I read of people that are so happy with it! What are your thoughts of it? Thanks

Hi, I am new here, have turtle and some goldfishes. I have tried to locate someone that can sell me eheim external pump with no success, second hand would be ok! Had to leave all my fish gear when shifting to Nz beacuse of customs and MAF, respect that but stil sad to have to start all over again to get my fish tanks up to what I used to have. I like eheim as a product and at the moment I have some useless filter pump that doesn't do it's work and need a external eheim since turtle is a bit full of beans and plays with the interla pump :roll: thanks
