  1. You dont have to say anything personal if you dont want to, was just interested who else my age used the site. BC? as in birkenhead? Haha YES!! so crack up aye, monaghan is gone now, who was your teacher(s)? wow, got into it earlier than me true, we come down/you come up to do exchanges with us, I dont suppose you know Zac wood - prefect at HbHS? Awesome! Going along the lines of what im interested in, will pm you.
  2. Sweet as! Thought the number of younger people was increasing, I thinking of a geography science major with a specialsation in either ecology or marine science, but still undecided about it all. :-? Wheres Alfriston college SamH, never heard of it?

Has anyone on herebought these from Hollywood? If so, experiences?
  6. Oh that one LA, didnt think you'd sell him...plecos poop way too much compared to other cats  considered an aro for the tank?
  7. Sharks grow averagely I think, cichlids have been the fastest in my experience...... probably should be about 15cm+ if going with that size ornate, sharks require a good amount of space - seen livingarts one, when he had it, was biggest i have seen at 30cm-40cm.
  8. Used to have 3, not very energetic, hard to feed on prepared food.
  9. cheers David Havent tried val before either, I can grow swordplants like no tomorrow, dont even have to try - they just grow and propagate constantly - true that about the cabomba, only slow water conditions and small fish. Sharks are good, I keep mine only as a potential distraction for the Jar - waiting for that day..., but hes been a good boy so far. Festae is gonna act as the main aggression cofactor in the tank (same effect that Henwards oscar has with his RTG), -to David - haven't had any digging issues yet, but have no plants i suppose. Geos are great, pictus would be cool, however, I have had one before and my previous 3 20cm ornates ALL tried to eat him, so you run a risk there, same with the congos, pretty sure they will be gobbled up.
  10. Im planning on switching to dark gravel as it brings out cooler colours in my opinion, plus Im going to do an extensive vallisnera? (weedy plant cant remember scientific name) plantation, vertical plants should look cool with the elongated bichirs. Tank is nowhere near what I want it to look like in terms of decor, and apart from more bichirs the tank stock is to my liking. Hopefully get more pics up this week, cruddy cam doesnt let any good close ups happen and some fish are skittish
  11. In terms of lighting, bichirs dont really need bright lighting and like it dimmer, more likely to come out - thats one opinion, for me it doesnt really matter, they will deal with anything. Im a fan of bichirs also, hoping to increase my population a bit more too: Atm - 3 grey sens, 1 albino, 1 ornate (at Henwards), 2 dels (unfortunately lost 2 more before this not long ago  ). They are in a 6ftr with 2 bala sharks, Festae, Green terror, Geo (surinamensis), Jardini. The bichirs range from 18cm (albino) to about 30-40cm (ornate), my Dels and sens are 20cm+ish. Sorry for thread hijack, just my 2 cents  some pics Really want these guys to get fatter, couldnt get any quality pics of Jar sorry.
  12. What ones do you have, how many and how big 8) ?
  13. Nice tank, good choice of fish with the BGK, lighting makes it look great
  14. I have 2 sharks, 1 about 7cm the other 15cm, they are in with a jardini/festae cichlid/green terror/geo/bichirs - no worries
  15. Nice, i got one too, showing great red on the fins. 8) apparently from talking to others who got the jars, some are turning out a little darker than others which are more goldy - mine is on the dark side 8) ........of the force  sorry had to add that.
  16. yup thats an aro  yours?
  17. I got some good buys at the bird barn...
  18. Nice stock + wood, needs something else though? perhaps some columbian tetras, they get to a good size, and maybe some plants attached to the wood?
