  1. Not a chance  their one of my favs, i NEED to get more.. MORE! Duncan, dont bother with dels, give em to me, their not worth it
  2. True, im no architect, but it seems ok, ill let you know if i have a tsunami in my room  ............. :-?
  3. Will take the dels off your hands sounds like a good plan duncan To David, my house is on a slope, thus plenty of joists running to the back of the house (where tank is, nearer to the ground, so not as elevated), dont think the tank is resting exactly on the joists, but there are a few joists under where it is, so im pretty ok with it, i think with any floor unless its concrete or right on the ground is gonna have a little sag.
  4. No i meant that they go ACROSS the floorboards- little bit more supportive
  5. hmm, i actually prefer leopard sailfin plecs to royals, i think they look cool, cheaper too what a legend aye! worked so hard  yeah pretty big sump, actually bigger than my old 'big' tank, good filtration, just pump is really noisy atm, i may end up getting an eheim to quiet it down. Good effort with only 2 people dunc! absolute mission navigating the house good luck with yours, i guess your dats will go in there? Im sticking away from dats for a bit. yeah, im hopeful it will hold tho, no issues and there are good support beams underneath (tank is spread across the floorboards and joists). Hard to compromise, i'd like to give the festae a go, but if it becomes unmanagable ill stick with knives, salvinis are nice too, but i prefer the red on festae. Although like morcs, a school of firemouths look really good - prob get munched tho  Maybe a combo of a jar and a festae would keep them occupied, or cause hell, kinda using henwards theory of distractions, knifefish are delicate (BGKS and banded) but ck should hold its own, large banded and fancy ck prob gonna be the feature fish, but i am a bichir guy too Any dels available atm?

  7. ya, $300 I like the cactus plec, but wanna get more dels and knives first.
  8. gonna go with white sand, still debating what decor is going in. yeah, i wanna pick em up this weekend sometime, pm me a good time. nope, just on strong house support joists, got a new floor tho. haha yeah, heard about that one, almost dropped it aye, but to move his tanks you didnt need to go through a house. room is 6ft x 2ft x 2ft, i live in the tank   8) jokes, room is about 4m squareish. Stock plan so far is: 1 fancy ck (14spots 8)), banded knife, 4 dels, 2 grey sens, 2 albino sens, 1 ornate, PTC. Also want to get: fancy plec or 2/regular plec, festae cichlid, several bgks and 1 brown ghost, maybs some bala sharks... Will prob have to compromise   will focus on bichirs and knives i think since their my favs
  9. Had a total mission on saturday, hardest thing ever done  Me, henward, dee and a few others (7 in total) moved the tank through my house, cuts everywhere and henward sweated about 3 litres. But it looks awesome put 6 goldfishes in to test it, now my ck and my banded knife are in it :bounce: Although the filter pump is a bit noisy (comes from sump, pumps into main tank), any tips on how to reduce sound/vibration? Ive already put a little poly under it and wrapped it in wool, but still quite noisy.
  10. Apisto Hongsloi, in HFF, looks nice, pricey tho
  11. bala shark, BGk, congo tetras, Pink tailed chalceus, not too many fish that are large with no aggression.
  12. Hey Hey! my tank's looking good, well done, i like the white sand, primo! i like the fish stocks, but i'd swap the gouramis for more loaches (imo) and get some more of the plecs. if your interested in a good looking 'rare' dwarf cichlid they have apisto hongsloi at hff, great colour but steep at 48ish each but if you were to breed them you'd make all your money back no probs, just a suggestion. Should try some upside down synos, great in agroup, dont get big, look cool?
  13. lol henward you'd come flying out with your wood chopping axe and your gym guns, and youve got reason to, what with having living gold. On another note its appalling that they would do this, the fighters are not too expensive and surely to maintain a good relationship you would simply buy the fish, as well as having morals. ive heard the best guard 'dogs' are geese, i hate geese absolutely viscious to you no matter what. :-?
  14. Sounds like Henwards tactics, feed em up till the pop  works though. well, yeah, definately faster growth rates in larger tanks, but in comparison to cichlids they take a while.
  15. Smaller oddballs: senegals, african butterfly fish, ctenopoma, BGK, and a couple of cool SA cichlids. Or convert it to brackish and do the puffers, archers and whatever else takes ya fancy. just a few ideas.
  16. bro, its gonna look so empty, you could have lasted with the 4ft for quite a while, dats grow slow remember. Cant put large fish in coz they'll eat the little guys.
  17. looks cool imo, try the wood on both dark sides but extending into the light, get some mint contrast, got to get the effects right, get some dark snoopy fish like a elephant nose (gets too big tho) or some upsidedown synos i reckon.
  18. haha nooooo, i really like these guys, wait i can hear something...... 'nom nom nom nom' wow they're hungry  Hard to overfeed bichirs tho spoon, i feed mine heaps, if they're full they just spit it out, love to chew the food  yeah, i plan to get a fire eel too, good fun.
  19. Lol, henward did you just spend the ENTIRE day on the site making up for the last year youve been absent, giving lectures and all
