ottos wouldn't last 5min with my preds, could try Bn's i suppose, the pleco i have poops WAY too much :lol: My bad, meant it floats/doesnt sink :lol: Ideally planted tanks 500L+ significant planted setup, not say a 50L tank with a few shrubs.

Nice David, still think you should keep the aro, he looks sweet as, nice as driftwood, never cool stuff in the shops, tried putting wood from the garden in, either doesn't float, leaches tannins or gets this slimy layer on it, ideas on how to stop this? All I know about it is to soak it for ages/attach to a heavy rock, let tannins leach out over a while. You not a fan of the plants David? Anyone with good large planted setups?

Hey guys, I know there arent too many of us keeping larger species but could you guys post pics of your setups, especially full tank shots displaying your layout - is it best to have horizontal or vertical wood with arowanas?

Popped into HFF albany today, they have a group of about 10 or so ZEBRA PLECOS Sold to approved homes only. Posted on here if anyone is interested, no price on tank, asked about it, you have to make a serious inquiry - ideally more than one so we can breed these guys - about 3-4cm right now so not mature. Also have some cool pitbull plecos too.

Nah, carapo took a beating tho but hes gonna recover i think, but being a responsible fishkeeper im gonna sell him, my tank is getting too aggressive and i really dont wanna see him dead, so once hes a little better I will have him up for sale again - didnt want to but the new jar wont take to him sooner or later, (CK smacked him i think - he will go up for sale 2). My tank stock is gonna be something like: Jardini, heaps of bichirs (atm just need more dels, got 2 albinos, 3 grey sens, 3 dels and an ornate), festae cichlid, blue dempsey + normal one - gonna see if they will breed, maybe an eel. Cant have it too full and the knifefish are too delicate for what im going for. If you post pics of your setup ill post pics of mine

Sweet as guys these look cool, i think the silica sand is too reflective imo, i want a more natural appearance like Gills, looks nice btw, Ive got yoyos too, so much fun to watch. My 6ft consists of bichirs and they change colour according to the colour of the ground stuff, also I want my new Jardini to come across dark with pink rather than a silvery colour. how much was the stuff you bought Gill?

Yo snookie, was wondering can you post up some pics of your setup (whole tank pic too), how big is it in dimensions and volume? Are you running more than 1 tank, cos wouldn't your nandus get munched by the big boys? Sweet as. Hows the new big tank coming along DavidR?

Hey guys, I filled my 6ftr with white silica sand, but frankly its not cutting it :roll: I'm pretty keen on a super dark sand/fine substrate, people with this as your base could you please post pics Also where do you get it, anything specific that aint aquarium safe? cheers

Get the clown on pellets, bloodworms = not very nutritional, easier to feed on pellets, my clown is growing more spots though as he gets bigger, hes got 14 on 1 side with about 13 on the other, at least 1 new spot forming, wish he had your rows though.

IMO put silvers in a pond, jardini in a tank, look cooler that way, but i think to have success keeping them together more fish are required in a tank, tank should be like 300gallons, would look awesome if you could let them get along, I thought about it when I was looking at thm in the store :roll:

6 pictus's sounds cool expensive tho, make sure there is no space between top of tank and coverglass, WILL get out, do not underestimate the cunning of the eel 8)

simple solution.... lower the price! I'd like to try maybe 3-4, would look pretty cool, tank is lookin primo, 6 barbs munched in one night! Turned on the light and the clown had this little head sticking out of its mouth, loach still alive, but cant catch it, hopefully it lives. Pleco did a poop about 30cm long :roll: And 11 bichirs looking real good 8)
